We dedicate this artide to the memory of our good friend and colleague, Pro!. Gilberto Gavi.

Abstract

Descriptions 01 eleven species of fungi found recently in Spain are presented here. Among the most interesting are the following ones: Hymenogaster decoros and Urnula cra­teriurn, which represent the second record in the country; Peziza gerardii, Picoa lefebvrei. Trichophaea woolopeia, Hymenogaster rnuticus and Melanogaster tuberíforrnis, as the third record in Spain. New data on the chorology and ecology 01 the rest of species are added.

Riassunto

, Sono descrifte 11 specie di funghi appartenenti agli Ascomiceli o Basidiomiceti trovate recentemente in Spa­gna. llunghi descritti nel presente lavoro sono stati raccol­ti nella provincia di Valladolid.

Si tratta di specie per la maggior parte rare; infatti per Hymenogaster decorosus e Urnula crateriurn si tratta del­la seconda segnalazione in territorio spagnolo, per Pezi­za gerardii, Picoa lefebvrei, Trichophaea woolopeia, Hy­rnenogaster rnuticus e Melanogaster tuberíforrnis del ter­zo ritovamento. Di ogni specie e con maggiore dettaglio nel caso di specie rare, vengono descritte le caratteristi­che macro- e microscopiche con immagini delle spore el­fettuate al SEM; viene inoltre brevemente descritto l'habi­tal di ritrovamento.

Introduction

Ouring the last few years we have been going on collectIng fungl from differenl provinces 01 Spain (Calonge & Pasabán. 1999. Calonge & al 2000a. 2000b). and now a seleclion of those presenting a majar Interesl for the country is shown here. A mac­ro and microscoplc study has been carried out for each sample. and SEM observations have been ar­chieved in those cases where the spares appeared or­namented. The photographies have been realized by A García. and all the material studied is preserved In the herbaria MA-Funqi and AVM.

The description 01 the studled speCles is variable accordIng to the importance 01 the speCles commenl­ed. In olher words. when the lunqus is rare or new to

possible they are the same species. Melanogaster tu­beriformis has been mentioned in Cáceres (Moreno & al.. 1995) and Valencia (Conca & al.. 1997).

Basidioma globose. with white peridium. cream gleba at first changing to chocolate colour at matu­rity (Tavola IV; Fig. 12). Spores globose. 12-15 /lm di­am.. with truncate warts (Fig. 13). Features which are in agreement with Montecchi & Sarasini' s (2000) de­scription. This species has been recorded in several provinces (Moreno-Arroyo. 1998).
