PhD offer at PLD and Nanoionics group
beca FPI (2012)
The Pulsed Laser Deposition & Nanoionics Group lead by Dr. José Santiso at the Nanoscience and
Nanotechnology Research Centre in Bellaterra (CSIC‐ICN), Barcelona is looking for candidates for one
FPI Grant associated to the Project entitled:
“Fundamental aspects of epitaxial growth of thin oxide heterostructures
and strain release mechanisms controlling nanostructure and ionic ‐
electronic transport properties (NANORELAX)” reference MAT2011‐29081‐C02‐01
The work in the Group is related with thin film deposition of complex oxide materials by using
advanced laser techniques and the characterization of their microstructure at a nanometer scale,
with particular emphasis in the characteristics of interface regions between the different materials.
Our research is aimed to establish the fundamental correlations between films and multilayers
microstructure and their electronic and ionic charge transport properties to be implemented in a new
generation of solid‐state electrochemical devices like oxygen sensors, oxygen separation membranes
and solid oxide fuel cells. More information about the Group can be found in:
http://www.cin2.es/english/research‐group.php?grupo=8
We are looking for a graduate in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science (preferably with marks around 2.0),
highly motivated for experimental work in a collaborative multidisciplinary research environment.
Deadline for aplication: before 23 February 2012
Starting date Summer/Fall 2012, Duration: 3‐4 years
Information of the call in web: Ministerio Economia y Competitividad
Please, send your CV’s along with a motivation letter to:
