I am a Senior at Colorado Mesa University (Mesa State College) in Grand Junction, Colorado. Now that I have finally grown up, I have decided to become a high school Mathematics teacher. After working in the field of Corrections, I decided that maybe I could be influential in the class room before some of these youngsters get into the legal system.

I have two children and seven grandchildren, all boys! Not a girl in the bunch. My daughter says that sooner or later, I will just have to accept the fact that our family is filled with male dominance and at this point in life no doubt there will be no more grandchildren.

I have a business on Ebay, Airbrush Products and More, the website is http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Airbrush-Products-and-More. I also do Face Painting/BodyArt and Theatre/Costume Makeup as a business called Painted Lady BodyArt, the website is www.paintedladybodyart.com. This is my favorite, as I get to be a big kid and play with paints on living canvas.

I am a process analyst/project lead, working for Lockheed Martin the past 12 years, and am currently a full-time telecommuter. I'm single...carefree...and am enjoying life!! I have three wonderful daughters and each of them has blessed me with 2 grandchildren (a total of 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons). My whole family lives nearby, and so I get to babysit a lot - how fun is that?!? I love to cook, and my passion for reading has not diminished a bit since high school. I "play" at golf, love to cruise/travel, and have fun - so my life is very complete.

Doesn't seem that long ago that we all were graduating from our beloved Jefferson High School... we have all come a long way I'm sure. After a year at Colorado State, I worked while attending Red Rocks Community. Married (a couple of times!! obviously it never agreed with me) taking me to Tucson, Arizona in 1979, divorced back to Denver and finally moving back to Arizona permanently in 1987. Worked for a small company for 17 years and then took a chance and left for California in 2001, why you say.... time for a change?? The lure of the California dreaming? What a bust..... guess I was born a rambling woman!!! (Can't you hear the music??)

I have two beautiful daughters and 7, yes count 'em, 7 grandchildren, 6 grandsons (including a set of twins) and 1 granddaughter. My oldest grandson will be a high school senior next year! I'll soon be watching him get his diploma and probably crying like a baby or like a proud grandmother. Wow... time flies... I'm working on getting back to Tucson as soon as possible, love that desert! Ideally, I should win the lottery and get a summer home in the Rockies and spend my winters in warmth in Tucson..... just like everyone else, or maybe I should just pick a place and finally settle down. I miss the Mountains and the seasons, but love the desert beauty and if I want snow, I only have to drive one hour out of the valley and can ski!

I wish I could be there and see you all. I've re-connected with a few people who I have known since 2nd & 3rd grade, and even a cousin! This time has reminded me of so many things, I want to thank all of you who were with me through the really rough times of growing up and then the sharing the really good times. You all played such an important part of that awkward teenage stage. Thank you and I hope to be there for the 50th???? Have Fun!!!

I'm still living in the Lakewood home I bought in 1973, still working at the State in the Unemployment Insurance Division going on 19 years now, and celebrating almost 30 years of marriage with my husband, Gary. Both sons, Jack and Keith, own their own homes in Colorado and have great jobs. Gary is retired from 20 years in the Navy and 28 years with RTD as a master mechanic. I plan to retire in 2 years so Gary and I can travel and catch up on the scrapbooking projects I started many years ago. God has truly blessed me in many ways. I am now the grandma of 1st grandson, Kingston David Green, born July 5th to Keith and Stephanie. I also coach a State Employees Softball Team (CDLE CUBS) and enjoy our playful 4-year-old Pit Bull dog, Justice. My cell phone number is 303-349-1737 and you are always welcome to call me.

After four years in the Navy (my draft number was #1) and 12 years managing department stores in CO, WY, IA, and IL, I started working in the not-for-profit world of economic development and chamber of commerce. The first 10 years was in Dixon, IL running the Dixon Industrial Development Association and for the last 13 years I've been President and CEO of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Texas. I do allot of public speaking and teaching across the country on economic development, selling, downtown redevelopment, strategic planning and other topics.

My wife Susan and I celebrated our 38th anniversary last May and we are blessed with two sons and five grandchildren, one in WFs and four live in Waxahachie, TX about 2 hours away.

Travel plans conflict with reunion but I'd have enjoyed seeing everyone.

I have been married for 34 years to the same wonderful girl. We have two perfect children (don‟t we all?). One is married and about to make us first time grand parents, with twins in October. We are definitely excited for that event!

In November 2008 I was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). It is a quite rare variety, but fortunately curable. Back in 1971, when we graduated from JHS, APL would have been a death sentence. Thankfully great strides have been made. APL is characterized with very low platelets and very low white blood cells. Treatment included three hospital stays (one for 23 days), three rounds of IV chemo and then two full years of oral chemo. As of March 2011, after 28 months of treatment, all blood counts look good now, and I am in remission.

I will be out of town during the reunion. I wish everyone well. Enjoy your friends, family and where ever you spend your time. I certainly have a whole different outlook on life, where I spend my time, and with whom I share my adventures.

Cheers, Doug E.

I have a lot of fond memories, first dates, the drive in movies, sleep overs with friends, and just laughing. I have fond memories of people I would love to see but haven't heard from since high school. I still live in the area, just have moved further west. We have two grown children. Our son is 26 and our daughter is 21. I work, part time as an audiologist for a non-profit organization that helps people find funding for hearing aids as well as working with full pay patients. Currently (don't ask me why) I am pursuing my Doctorate degree in audiology. In my spare time I am not quite sure what I do? Laundry?

Exceptional standards? Bwahahahahaha -- sorry, I feel as if I was ripped off -- even now.

However, there were exceptions. Leah Kindred was an amazing teacher. So was Dan Grace, as was Patricia Richards and Mr. Vance, the orchestra teacher. I remember Jess Quintana (art) fondly and I still quote Mr. Celantano (driver's ed -- "focus people" and "get the big picture people") often.

Hello, dear friends! Sadly, this will be the first Reunion I can't attend. I am battling several health problems, that do not allow me to get too far from my Doctors. Please know, my thoughts will be there and I would give anything to be there...but, it isn't in the cards.

I have a Bachelors Degree, in Registered Nuring, and worked for 25 years in surgery, acute post-surgery, and Management roles in acute Diabetes, and Diabetes Education. I am now inactive, due to my medical issues. I LOVE the profession, and miss it alot. My other passions are music, and animals....including rescue and no-kill shelters. My current kids, are three cats...especially the large breed, of Maine Coon. They are smart and lots of company.

My husband Ted, talked me into moving here to the Indianapolis area, about 8 years ago. His youngest son, wife and 6, yes 6 grandchildren are here. There are many nice qualities about the state, but the weather is the pits. LONG, gloomy cold winters, then no spring...Tornado alley we are known for, then right into brutal humidity. Other than that? The weather is great! The grandchildren are growning, so we are pondering the notion of moving back towards Denver, or Montrose, where my sister Margot(class of 1970) lives, and just loves it. We have spent our adult lives living far apart. My 89 year old Mom, going on 60....may join the decision. With the housing market, we will have to see how it goes. It would be wonderful to be closer to my roots of Wheatridge and Lakewood!

Please know how disappointed I am to not see all of you. I have marvelous memories of high-school...some of the best of my life. Please get in touch with me, I would love to catch up on your lives and it is so interesting to see where we are at, in our early Golden years.....

God Bless, and all my love!

I guess being a band room and art room geek was my calling, as I have made a full time career in music my whole life, based in Canada. My art experience prepared me to be my own in-house promotional, video editing, and graphics design service, and I have not only recorded a dozen cds of my own in my own studio, but designed them from the ground up. My most recent cd Told Ya So has many name guests on it, and it was awarded Album of the Year (and me for Instrumentalist of the Year) in Canada, and the first single from it broke Billboard Top 50. The second single is out and climbing the charts now. I also won a JUNO award (Canadian Grammy), several gold and platinum album awards, and have performed and recorded with the likes of Michael Buble, John Denver, Heart, Little Richard, Long John Baldry, Ben E King, The OJays, and many more. I travel the world only doing really great dates and seeing really great places.

I have a 30 yr old daughter and my current wife of five years, Sylvia, is my perfect match (finally found the one!). We have a great life in Vancouver with travel, food, wine, and music being the compass points of our lifestyle. We have a pretty easy life all in all.....

My many fond memories of Jefferson are interwoven between remembering certain teachers and certain classmates. Who could imagine where we all are today?

Our Seventh Congressional District is represented by Edwin Perlmutter, who previously had been the Majority whip in the Colorado State Senate. And he has three talented daughters as well, whom I suspect are very proud of him as he fights the budget battles in D.C. Ed and I were actually roommates while studying law at the University of Colorado; he has put his legal career to work in public service, while I use it every day in my insurance business.

Who knew that Mark Anthony Dennis would pursue medicine as an anesthesiologist instead of as an O.B. GYN?

Linda Garrison is directing capital fundraising campaigns for Metropolitan State College of Denver as their Hospitality Learning Center takes shape on the Auraria Campus and their Center for Visual Arts graces the Arts District on Santa Fe. Banished from the Jefferson Saintinel, she started in Journalism with the local Sentinel newspapers; earned her BA in Journalism at Metro State College; became a certified expert in Public Relations and has excelled in non-profit capital fundraising programs across the West while becoming a Certified Fundraising Executive.

I recall Mr. Charles Kirschner for biology had a marvelous ability to encourage learning with a great sense of humor and a few unusual pictures of startling African diseases. Paul Kruchowski eventually used that experience to become a veterinarian/CSU, may God rest his soul. And I was happy to hear that there is another Mr. Kirschner still teaching at Jeffco schools -- our Kirschner's son, Don Kirschner, is a science teacher at Pomona High School in Arvada.

Miss Leah Kindred greatly expanded my understanding of great literature (and German writers) while accommodating my unusual presentations (i.e. reading a paper about Leonardo da Vinci into a mirror).

On more than one occasion, Guy Kelley and I managed to catch a few „zzz‟s‟ in Math Analysis and failed to wake up in time to reach Chemistry on time. Few things are more disconcerting than waking up in a class of strangers who are so quiet and considerate that they do not disturb you until more than ½ way through the class. The laughs that greeted us in the Chemistry class always drowned out our sheepish entrance. (CONTINUED)

Page 14

(CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS PAGE)

Physics with Mr. Miller and his perfect circles always challenged and baffled me -- while I am sure that my „blocks‟ frustrated him. He was a superior instructor. I still admire his passionate ability to illustrate the great principles of physics even as I struggled with his tests. Guy took his physics experience to CU and the electron microscope with a little practice in semi-conductor engineering. Guy ended up protecting Hewlett Packard‟s intellectual property rights as a lawyer while moonlighting as a Regent for CU.

For some reason, the „temporary classrooms‟ seem to hold some of the more interesting stories. I remember many late nights in that Tin Temporary taking turns rewriting computer programs on paper tapes. Our poor typing/spelling resulted in excess efforts that probably trashed the R-1 budget for computer services.

I seem to remember a Freshman English class in one „temp‟ listening to a reading of some amazing science fiction from one of Hugh Hefner‟s publications as one memorable teacher illustrated that there was more to that publication than cartoons and center-folds. Unfortunately, he would never let us admire the airbrushed artwork. I suspect this demonstration would not be condoned today, but it was highly educational and illuminating then.

Mrs. Gail Pearson‟s speech class in yet another „temp‟ seem to provide a little extra freedom. I had the opportunity to scream in class under the guise of extemporaneous speech. Fortunately Mr. Pappas never had to visit our class for an explanation. I am very glad I never had to explain my presentation to him. And just how did Paul Dawson managing to „whup‟ me in our debate in her class? It must have been his huge smile. Paul is one of those managers of the great technological divide with one daughter protecting the country at the FBI, and the other a Celtic songstress and educator with an advanced degree from Trinity University in Dublin.

I remember Mrs. Pearson‟s willingness to let us express our personal opinions while she polished our presentation skills. While I enjoyed Bob Schuchard‟s Valedictorian speech and his observations about education and „rear view mirrors,‟ I suspect that it surprised Mr. Phillips. I guess that Paul forgot that he had to watch the „quiet ones‟ instead of patrolling the hallways and expecting Mrs. Pearson to act as a censor.

Speaking of Mr. Phillips, while I do not remember him chasing classmates who were ditching classes with a bullhorn demanding them to "tell me your names,” I can imagine it. I never knew what exactly Mr. Phillips did do. I always thought that we had an open campus. Or perhaps I was just contrasting the freedom of our shabby Jefferson with that of the immaculate Plymouth, Wisconsin exchange high school which monitored the school hallways like it was Alcatraz with demerits doled out by the handful.

I remember our great debate in the American History class on World War II between the positions represented by the Allied powers, the Axis powers, and those in favor of “neutrality.” Did one of those three teachers actually decide to have a little surgery and gender re-assignment done in Trinidad, CO later in life? I have heard rumors …

In 2004 I left Wheat Ridge and relocated to Alamosa, CO for my husband's new job. We love the magic of the San Luis Valley with the San Juan Mtns to the west and Sangre De Cristo Mtns to the east. We have been truly blessed with newer travels throughout the world, visiting Africa/Egypt, Australia/NZ, China, South America/Antarctica, Italy/Spain to name a few and this year around England to Greenland and Iceland.

I work part time for Edward Jones Investments and jump at the chance to water color paint as much as I can. My work is shown in several galleries down here in the valley. We still visit freinds and family but mostly my folks who still live in Wheat Ridge.

I see Jefferson occasionally as I drive thru Edgewater for some silly reason. To show the kids or the grandkids where grandma spent her time in high school. We had a great time. All the drama and laughs are so different from today's high school memories. I'm glad we were "back in the day" when we felt safe and had a great time and learned, loved and cried, sometimes all at the same time. I

have moved around over the years but seem to keep turning up here. I wonder if we would change anything back then if we could?

Enjoy the reunion. Sorry I had to miss it, maybe next time will work. Have one for me and remember all we did way back then. Lin

Leonard, Adrienne (Kitten) (Leonard) 5626 S. Kenton Ct Englewood, CO 80111 Phone: 303-221-4014 EMail Address: [email protected]

I decided to pull out my copy of the 1971 Halo Heights Yearbook. How fun and educational that was! Foremost, I was impressed at what a great looking group of students we were and how many different activities we were involved in!

It refreshed my memory that microfilm readers, tape recorders and stereo record equipment were the new technology of the day -- my, oh my, have times changed! President Nixon was in office, the Vietnam War was STILL on-going, the 26th Amendment was ratified giving 18 year olds the right to vote, Jimi Hendrix passed away at the beginning of our Senior year, and McDonald's had sold over 5 billion burgers (Trivia question -- who knows what that figure is now?) - what a time to remember!

So what have I been doing since then? Well, after high school, I attended CU, majoring in Finance and minoring in skiing (just kidding). I then moved to San Diego, CA to attend law school. The beaches of San Diego were so gorgeous that I almost didn't return to Colorado, but a job and skiing brought me back.

I worked first for a small law firm in Golden and then the Jefferson County DA's office for a few years (and am proud to announce that I never saw any classmates come throught the system - whew!). After that, I moved to Dallas, with my then husband, and practiced municipal law. We both missed Colorado so when the opportunity came up, we moved back. I've been in Colorado ever since. For the last 14+ years, I've been an in-house lawyer in telecommunications.

I still enjoy skiing, jogging, swimming, hiking, and biking. I've run the Bolder Boulder many times and have climbed a few 14'ers. In my opinion, there's no place better than Colorado for all these wonderful outdoor activities!

All 3 of my children are presently in college (yikes! that's scary thought, eh?)

My twin daughters are both business majors (one here at DU and the other in Iowa at Coe College). My son is at Western State and is striving to be a professional photographer.

My favorite activities, in addition to my athletic endeavors, are being with family and friends, travelling, cooking, listening to music, and reading.

I look forward to reading updates from my high school classmates and seeing all who attend the reunion. Happy 40th!

Adrienne Leonard

I have spent the last 13 years staying home with our 3 boys, JJ age 12, James and Jonah age 9. During this time I have mastered the task of car pool driver, multiple sports scheduler, meals on the go, illnesses of many varieties and President of the PTCO. Before we had children my focus was at The Children's Hospital in Denver for 25 years where I participated on The Cardiovascular Team in the operating room.

My life since high school has been very full and rewarding. I consider myself lucky to have a wonderful loving husband (we have been married for 19 years) and terrific kids.

Married and then divorced, Married and then divorced again, and I have two awesome children. One is a graphic designer and the other is still in school, but an artist also. I have been a realtor for over 10 years and love it. Currently I have gone back to school to finish my degree in college. I am finishing my Master's degree. I am the assistant coach for a running group. We are planning a 25 K upcoming in October. High school seems like such a very long time ago, but glad that you are having the reunion should be fun.

Forty years have gone by fast!! I graduated from University of Colorado in 1975 majoring in Speech Pathology and Audiology. In 1976, I was Rocky Mt Regional Champion in Masters Swimming. In 1978, I started my business, Boulder Electrology and am still working it. During the '80's, I did several endurance races on my horses. We started doing Ride-n-Tie, (which is a horse and human endurance race). We completed 2 national events (40 mile race), and placed 8th in 1987. I live on a farm with my 5 horses, dogs and cats. I love my garden and farm chores. My greatest joy is living for the glory of my LORD, Jesus Christ. HE has blessed me greatly.

I am still living and working in Littleton. The kids are all scattered - our oldest, Beth in PA school in Chicago, our middle, Molly in Law School in Georgia and our youngest, John a junior at Clemson in South Carolina. No marriages or grandkids yet.

I still love to travel... have done several medical missions in the Philippines... have been diving in Fiji, Truk, Mexico, Hawaii and Turcs and Caicos and Cherry Creek Res! ooooo!!! I still do lots of biking, less running, and some swimming when the weather isn't perfect for anything else.

My family has been blessed... I can't believe its been 40 years! How the heck did THAT happen?

My past career in the field of dentistry came to an end in May of 2004 when my boss of 8 years decided to retire. I had planned to start my own business one day, so I got busy obtaining my training and licensure as both a Manicurist and an Esthetician. I opened up Arista Spa 5280 in November of 2007 and am back in the Wheat Ridge area right across the street from Wheat Ridge Lanes! My Mother still lives in our family home, so it feels good to be so close to where I grew up. I am presently still married, have a son and a daughter, 5 grandchildren and one on the way; due in December.

I'm still actively pursuing my PR career here in Denver, thanks to Miss Pearcy's journalism classes at Jefferson. Sadly, Miss Pearcy passed away since our 30th. I was able to attend the service - we need more teachers like her. What a gem. The "Saintinel" newspaper is now a blog -- I subscribe. I also stay in touch with my former yearbook editor friends: Jan Buchholz, '69, who's in Phoenix now (real estate reporter with Phoenix Business Journal), and Beth Jonke Mark, '70, in Boulder with the Rocky Mountain Institute. I also stay in touch with Pam Daiss-Sitzmann, Mayzelle Ewbank Yantis, Kathy Bean Cripe, Dianne Gieselman Steiner, Gabriel Mark Hasselbach and Becky Beshore (from Reed Street Elementary days). I'm overdue on checking on Jane Miller...and need to do that very soon. On a personal note, my parents both passed away since our last reunion, but in 2006 Steve's daughter Jennifer and hubby Pedro welcomed their son Sebastian (during the December blizzard) and are expecting a second little boy in August (probably before our reunion). Also, a calico kitty named Rita joined our household as well - so there are many, many blessings to be grateful for in my life. Change, however, is the one thing we can be certain of! I'm looking forward to reconnecting with old friends.

I worked for Coldwell Banker as a systems coordinator for 13 years. When the market took a nosedive so did my job (Layoff #1). I then worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for nearly 1 1/2 years doing address canvassing, group quarters interviews & reviews, receptionist, admin clerk and ended as Payroll Supervisor. (Layoff #2). Being a part of history was right up my alley because I love doing genealogy research. I have over 20,000 ancestors on my computer! It feels like finding buried treasure! Now it's back to the drawing board for a new challenge.

Has it really been 40 years since we were roaming the halls of Jefferson H.S.?

It certainly does not seem like 40 years has passed since graduation! I am sure everyone agrees as well as looks back at all the living we have packed in!

I married Gary Bostwick (Alameda :P) right out of high school and we are close to celebrating our own 40th anniversary! I have been a journalist, a buyer and an educator over the years; then 3 years ago, chose to be a stay at home grandmother and now Gary has chosen to retire so we can have some fun before we are too old!

Our blessings in life include 2 wonderful, now adult children-daughter Torie and son Chris. Torie is in the medical trade and Chris is with Naval Intelligence. Torie has also gifted us with a truly amazing granddaughter, Susana who is now 4 years old. What an incredible feeling to be "Nana" and "Pop" and get a fresh view of life through Suzie's eyes!

We are very active, have a house rabbit, many gardens, a travel trailer, skiis, hiking boots, fly fishing paraphernalia, a '57 Ford Skyliner Retactable (complete with car club!), the proverbial Subaru, the travel bug, books galore and so many wonderful friends and family to share it all with. We are grateful for all of our blessings.

Greetings from Chicago. The wife and I thought hard about a trip to Denver for the 40th reunion, but business commitments are preventing it. I know I'll regret not getting the opportunity to lift a glass with classmates. Hope everyone has a good time. 40 years, jeez ... so far away.

I married my best friend--Cindy--whom I met in college. We've been married for 36 years and have two Children: Jon who lives in Boston, and Anne who lives in Monterey, CA. Anne has given us two delightful grandsons.

After college, I have served in Christian Ministries in Kansas, Colorado, and now California. I spent 25+ years operating Christian schools. In 2003 I began to serve in more pastoral ministries. I am currently the sole pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill, CA. My avocations are still hiking, fishing, and music of all kinds.

I would love to hear from any classmates, especially if you are in CA, or any of you who were in Band, Orchestra, Concert Choir, or Madrigals.

The Lord be with you!

When I first heard about the reunion, I thought where is that book - "THE HIGH SCHOOL REUNION DIET: Lose 20 years in 30 Days!!!

But then I started thinking about how the passing of time sweetens high school reunions. The memories of those days when all we had

to worry about was what to wear, will I have a date to the prom or what to do on the weekend. Reflecting through my life has come full

circle. I attended school with some of you since first grade or at least from junior high in Wheat Ridge. What a ride I've had! I married at 18, finished college, had my son in 1977 and a daughter in 1979. I became a partner in my Mother's Accounting Firm in 1982. Divorced after 16 years of marriage. I sold the accounting practice in 2000, and went back to college to be a Pharmacy Technician in the hospitals. And guess what - I wasn't the oldest student at 50 years old!! I remarried after 19 years, but sorry to say it ended after 4 years. I spend a lot of time with friends and family. I have two granddaughters and one grandson..........and one due in March!! And to complete my story about coming full circle - I now own and live in my family home that I was raised in since 1962. I gratefully acknowledge that what I learned makes me happy to be growing older. I'm waiting for the next "ride" and what life will bring me.
