Dear Sir / Madam,I am writing to submit my application for the JOB. I am a recent graduate of Monash University, where I completed a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Hons. 1st class) / Bachelor of Science double degree. I was very excited to read about the POSITION and the opportunities available to employees at DST group, in particular the SOmeTHING. Conducting research with leading edge technology, alongside Australias leading engineers and scientists be a tremendous starting point in my career in research. During my study at Monash University I found fluid mechanics to be a fascinating field of study and one that I excelled in, achieving multiple high distinction grades in core and elective units across both my degrees. I chose my final year project topic because it allowed me to apply the skills I had acquired in previous fluids subjects to a research and design based project. I utilised computational fluid dynamics software to contribute to the design of a microchannel device aimed at investigating the influence of blood flow parameters and arterial wall stresses on blood clot production. I was awarded a high distinction for my final report and presentation, demonstrating my understanding of fluid mechanics and CFD, and capability in technical writing and verbal communication. Following the completion of my study I was employed at the Manufacturing Excellence Task Force of Australia (META) to perform a study into the current and future capability of the Australian Commercial Aerospace industry. My experience at META gave me further experience in conducting research projects, and provided an opportunity to demonstrate my interpersonal skills while conducting surveys, engaging clients and reporting to my supervisors. I have also recently completed the 2015 Mongol Rally, an amateur charity rally that challenges teams to complete an 18000km unassisted drive from London to Mongolia in an entirely unsuitable car. This was a very rewarding experience, requiring many months of research, planning and preparation with little to no external guidance. It provided a fantastic opportunity to work in a small team environment, and was very beneficial for my project planning, communication and problem solving skills. Thank you for accepting my application. I eagerly look forward to hearing more about this exciting opportunity, and I am available for a further interview at any time in person, online or over the phone.

Yours faithfully,Jordan
