Reminders PAC Winter Celebration

On Wednesday, December 19 our PAC will be hosting their Winter Celebration in the gym from 3pm to 5pm. The band will be performing at 1:30 and we will also have the school sing-a-long within the band performance. At 3pm the gym will be transformed into a magical space. Families are encouraged to come and hang out and get into the Christmas spirit! There will be a variety of activities to take part in and there is always lots of food!

Be Ready for the Weather This past week has had 2 very rainy and colder days. A reminder that students (and supervisors) will be heading outside during this weather. It provides the students with a much needed brain break and fresh air and enables them to be better prepared for the rest of the day’s activities. Several students are in sweatshirts only—please send rainboots, an umbrella and some type of water resistant coat. Staff vs Students Volleyball Game This week several of our staff members played a volleyball game against our students. Thanks to Mr. Angman and to Mr. Woo for coaching our volleyball team this season and for arranging the game today. 3 teams of 6 students per team took on the teachers. It was a strong lead for the teachers BUT the students never game up and came very close to taking the lead at the end. Congratulations to all of the players and staff for a very fun afternoon! See the pics below—taken by our grade 7 students.

DARE Graduation Our grade students are wrapping up the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) taught by Constable Pickering. It aims to teach students about making good choices and to learn about the harmful effects of various substances. On Tuesday, Dec. 18th at 2pm, in the gym, students will share a statement about what they learned and will get their certificates. Parents and family members are invited to join us at 2pm. All of our grade 5 students and those students in Div. 3, 4 and 5 will be joining the graduation.
