I first heard about this position through my college’s Psychology department’s monthly newsletter. This position is especially exciting for me as it combines my experiences in public relations, writing, and entrepreneurship, and my interests in strategy and opportunity. At PR & Company in San Francisco, I worked with clients in diverse fields – education, women’s rights, and technology. I drafted press releases, made pitch calls to news outlets across the state, and researched Bay Area companies’ corporate social responsibility practices to identify which work best. As an intern at a strategic communications firm of five full-time employees, I was able to directly contribute to creative brainstorming processes for clients and the firm. As I implemented social media content to further the firm’s Tech for Good mission and drafted a strategic messaging plan for a client, I honed my writing and ability to view things from multiple angles. I returned to PR & Company in January 2015 for a 3-week internship, when I worked specifically with female tech clients. Most recently, I completed an internship at Sundance Family Foundation, a foundation that funds Twin Cities non-profits focusing on youth social entrepreneurship (YSE), a new concept in youth development. In my short three-month tenure, I identified the Foundation’s social media needs, established all necessary social media platforms, and contacted youth participants of the Foundation’s non-profit organizations to secure participants for a blog to showcase these non- profits and their youth who benefit from the Foundation’s funding. Throughout, I developed a reputation as someone who communicates promptly and thinks innovatively. I am eager to engage full-time in work that is informed by intelligence, creativity, and positive change. Moreover, I wish to deepen my understanding of how businesses can build and sustain themselves with my knowledge I have as a student of psychology. I thank you for your consideration and look forward to talking with you soon to further discuss this position and my qualifications. I am eager to apply my experiences, enthusiasm, and energy to the work and culture of Zeus Jones and look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Jennie Kim
