We received an overview of the day’s activities: Practical vehicle preparation, engine inspection, driving and experiencing the 4x4 track, etc.

Filled with excitement, adrenalin and sweaty palms for some of the ladies, we set of to our Jeeps and those newer display models... (yes, you could drive them to...)

It was time for action – the real deal... the Grade 3 off road Track! Concentration... Focus... axel... gears... tyre pressure..., multi tasking indeed! Our confidence grew as we explored the track. We felt safe throughout with the excellent guidance of the Jeep Club Organisers.

The brave gutsy ladies amongst us did us proud on taking on the Grade 5 rated track – and completing it with ease!

The day was surely filled with fun, laughter, and some anxious moments... BUT surely we will do it AGAIN!!!

To Craig and the Organising Jeep Team, Sandown Jeep for all the vehicles, Thank you for making this a memorable day (for the ladies and their Jeeps). Jeep Fun! Sonia Sevenhuysen

Annual Topless Day – Western Cape – May 2015

Rola Chrysler, Jeep & Dodge in Strand Western Cape

opened their doors to welcome the many Jeepers eager to celebrate the 8th annual Go Topless Day, topless Jeeps that is. With the new edition to the Jeep family the Jeep Renegade, welcoming it’s bigger brother the Wranglers, as they arrived at Rola and lined up side by side in the parking lot. With formalities like driver registration and briefing complete, the convoy slowly snaked their way out the parking lot to get the fun started. As expected, Mother Nature teased with a bit of drizzle which meant Topless Day quickly became soft top day as the parade of Jeeps made their way from Rola down to the Strand Beach front. However, this baptism of water was short lived as the heavens cleared and the parade of now topless Jeeps proceeded down the infamous

Route 44. On route, curious on lookers couldn’t help but admire and envy the string of Jeeps as they made their way from Strand through to Stellenbosch. Just before reaching our final destination, the Slaley’s Bistro, the convoy took a quick detour through the wine estate up past dams, through gravel and some mud left over from the rain to reach the top of the wine estate with one of the best views of the valley with Table Mountain as the back drop. After which everyone gathered across the way at Slaley’s Bistro to enjoy the rest of the afternoon in good company with Slaley’s providing one of the best Lamb spits this writer has tasted in a very long time. Needless to say, paired with some of the house wines as well. A huge thanks to Rola Chrysler, Jeep & Dodge for the warm welcome on a chilly Cape Town morning, and to Slaley’s for opening up their awesome venue to us and providining the food and drink. Here’s to the 9th Annual Topless Day, looking forward to it. Cheers!

Annual Topless Day- Gauteng – May 2015

On a cold winter morning a group of the Gauteng Jeepers met at various points in Gauteng. The guys from the East Rand were welcomed at Cargo Motors Bedfordview where they enjoyed some warm coffee and a bite to eat before departing on their route. Anne-Marie and her awesome team “created” a cryptic map which allowed all the participants a new view on how to get around the east rand area. Their half way mark

was at Chrysler Midrand where goodies were given out and clues as to their next stop. A short 4x4 track had been build and the participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves before heading off to their final destination, Zwartkops raceway. In the meantime, the guys from the West

Rand met at Chrysler Constantia where they also had the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee before they were sent on their way. Along their route, which was also navigated via cryptic clues, they had to pass where the wind turns red, wave at Ronald and stop at the “Kind of Burgers” where the SA Roller Derby Team

welcomed them with some freebies. Their midway point was Chrysler Fourways where they were welcomed with lunch, jumping castles and more prizes. After departing from Chrysler Fourways, they made their way to Zwartkops to join up with the Guys from the

East Rand. The Pretoria section started their day at Chrysler Wonderboom and after a cup of coffee departed to their halfway mark, Chrysler Centurion. After mingling with the crowd, they also went to join their fellow Jeepers at Zwartkops Raceway. Upon arrival at Zwartkops, they were directed towards the old drive in, where the Jeep Committee members assisted them to park in the Jeep formation parking which was a first for the Jeep Club SA. After the formation parking, all the Jeepers were invited

to either take their vehicles onto the 4x4 track or go for a spin onto Skidpan. Thank you to all the participating dealerships and sponsors for the amazing prizes and for an unforgettable day doing what we love. We look forward to the next topless day which we are sure will be even better than before.

KZN- Topless Day 2015

Saturday morning we all gathered at Mekor Amamzimtoti, where we were greeted with warm coffee and lovely breakfast platters. We were fortunate enough to have front row seats to the launch of the

new Renegade. After a few words about the Renegade we closely analyzed all the Easter eggs the Renegade has to offer. From there we left the dealership in convoy all along the Durban beachfront turning quite a few heads and making a great impression. We arrived at Beach Bums in Durban North where we were welcomed as VIP’s with our own sectioned of parking right on the beachfront. We all tucked into our lunch with our feet in the beach sand and enjoyed the company of each other. We sat back and enjoyed the afternoon sea breeze before saying goodbye and went on our way home. We would like to thank Mekor Amanzimtoti for

hosting us in the morning and involving us in the launch of the New Jeep Renegade, as well as Beach Bums for making such an effort in making us feel welcome at their Beach Bar.

MOEDERS DAG SAAM MET JEEP KLUB SA

Ek is al vir baie jare ‘n lid van Jeep Klub SA en gaan altyd saam met my man na die byeenkomste. Op hierdie uitstappie vind ek myself by die “Moedersdag” geselligheid by Hobbypark, Krugersdorp. Met my man langs my het ek meer vertroue gehad.

MARLENE HUMAN (ENGELSMAN)
