Saudi Arabia eases restrictions on foreign investors to let them own 100 percent of retail and wholesale businesses.

The volume of foreign investments on smart applications expected to flow into the Kingdom in the next two years is estimated at more than US$ 10 billion (SR 37.5 billion).

Saudi Arabia will open its oil refining ventures to foreign investors, but not state-owned exploration and production activities.

Managers of the oil giant Saudi Aramco have reportedly been told shares may be in so-called “joint downstream subsidiaries” at home and abroad.

A festival for artisans and craftsmen

The Multi-Sectoral Jeddah International Trade Fair is a gathering of national pavilions of various countries displaying their industrial potential.

An essential ingredient of this event is the art and handicraft feature; where the country groups can give an insight into the SME’S potential through the products made by artisans, craftsmen and entrepreneurs.

There will be live demonstrations by the participants where the visitors will be enlightened on the fine art of craftsmanship with the possibility of hands-on training of skills required in the execution of intricate pieces of art on different mediums like cloth, wood, metal and others.

This event will be a rendezvous for both the supplier and buyer and the range of products will cover a vast array of goods.

There will also be a number of competitions and prizes with sponsorship opportunities available.
