Jazz the Vet Role-play
Work with the children to allocate characters and prepare a short performance. Discuss the stage directions in advance and make sure the children understand how to follow the script.
(Zac and his dad are at the vet’s with Zac’s rabbit.)
Narrator 1: Zac and his dad visit Jazz the vet.
Narrator 2: Zac’s rabbit has a bad leg.
Narrator 1: Jazz picks up the rabbit and rubs its leg.
Narrator 2: Jazz tells Zac he can fix the leg. The rabbit gets a jab in the top of its leg.
(Wendy is at the vet’s with her parrot.)
Narrator 1: Wendy visits the vet. She has a big, red parrot. The parrot yells at Jazz.
Parrot: Get off me!
Narrator 2: Jazz has to be quick. The parrot will nip him.
(A man is at the vet’s with his kittens.)
Narrator 1: A man has a big bag. He unzips the bag. It has seven kittens in it!

Narrator 1: Jazz has to put the kittens back into the bag. He has six kittens, not seven!
(Jazz finds the missing kitten in a box.)
Narrator 2: A kitten was in a big box. She had a nap!
