President Message Hello everyone As I am writing this report just before the Christmas Festive season, Judy and I wish everyone a happy Xmas and a safe and happy New Year. We are gearing up for a busyXmas, with our children, grandchildren and some furry ones visiting and enjoying a longer stay at the Gills Resortover the Xmas and New Year period. The kids grow up so quickly and it is great to enjoy their company. Our January schedule will be a little bit more relaxed and we will spend some time preparing the car and caravan for our 2020 tripping around. With a Mystery Tour in March, the Track to Track in June, the CCQ Rally and Millmerran Camp Oven Festival in September and then the Gorge to Gorge in October and combined with our Club musters, 2020 will be a busy one, somewhat different from 2019. The Roustabout Xmas Muster at Rainbow Beach Holiday Park was a very successful event with 56 club members in attendance. Despite the challenges of sand flies (biting midges) it was a great weekend enjoyed by all. The Friday night sizzlewas changed to a Hot Dog meal followed by fruit salad and ice cream. On Saturday night the members enjoyed a wonderful ham and chicken salad followed by plum pudding for dessert. The local IGA at Rainbow Beach were great to deal with and made the catering reasonably easy. I like to thank all the volunteers who willingly jumped in and assisted on both the Friday and Saturday night. The Annual General Meeting and General Meeting on the Saturday morning was well attended and with some new Club member appointees to the Club sub- committees we are in a good position for 2020. Some friendly games of Finska were held on Sunday. The Xmas Dinner at Club Southside Club was well attended by 42 members. The three course alternate drop provided a good range of choice, although the Club staff need to be trained in how to do an alternate drop. Despite this, everyone enjoyed the night. As this newsletter is being sent out in early January, dont forget our Start of the Clubluncheon to be held on Saturday 19 January at Club Southside. We are hoping that a number of our Gold sponsors will be in attendance as well. Our February Muster at Alstonville Showgrounds is being held over the weekend of 7 th to 9 th February is an important one for the Club. On the Saturday we will be holding our Club General meeting and it is your opportunity to have your say in setting the Club in the right directions during our SWOT session and feedback on the Annual Club member survey. Dont forget to complete the Club Survey. It helps us with the future direction of the Club.

President Message

Hello everyone As I am writing this report just before the Christmas Festive season, Judy and I wish everyone a happy Xmas and a safe and happy New Year. We are gearing up for a “busy” Xmas, with our children, grandchildren and some furry ones visiting and enjoying a longer stay at the “Gill’s Resort” over the Xmas and New Year period. The Friday night “sizzle” was changed to a Hot Dog meal followed by fruit salad and ice cream. On Saturday night the members enjoyed a wonderful ham and chicken salad followed by plum pudding for dessert. Secretary Message My Leave Application was approved at the End of Year Dinner so this year the Office is closing between

Christmas Eve and 2 January 2020. Hooooray …. But my salary increase was again rejected … Oh well!

The Special Event organised for 2021 on the Hawkesbury River is proving exceptional in terms of registrations.

Once security deposits have been paid into our bank account we will see if there is need for additional boats.

Members have asked about our community financial support over the years and as the information is not on the

website I have inserted it over the next couple of pages, broken down to Rural & Outback Community spend and

Metropolitan coffee/dining spend.

Also make sure to check our 2020 and 2021 Programme of Events and put those muster dates and tagalong trips into your diary, and send in your Registration Form. Have a look at the Hawkesbury River Cruise event scheduled for March 2021. Judy and I look forward to catching up with you all at our “Start of Year” luncheon, at Alstonville or on the Mystery tour. Take care and travel safely. Brian Gill

1 FEBRUARY 2020

2019 Annual Survey The annual Survey will be sent by message to all

members during the first week of December.

All members are asked to please take a few minutes to

complete this important document as it determines the

future direction of our Club.

The Survey will close on 5 January 2020 and the

outcome will be circulated prior to the February 2020

Alstonville muster.

Strengths, Weaknesses,

Opportunities and Threats (SWOT)

Analysis

At the Alstonville muster the Club will hold the first general meeting of the year and part of the meeting will be a

discussion on Survey outcomes. In past years this has proved extremely beneficial as members have time to

discuss and come to a decision on how they want the Club to progress. It also provides the management

committee with a clear direction and report back to members on progress.
