President’s Message Dear Members,
I hope your holidays were full of joy and happiness; HAPPY NEW
YEAR!!!
With your help we had a wonderful 2015. Thanks so much to the
board, committee chairs/members and volunteers that help make
2015 a success. Christmas Luncheon, our last event of the year was
so much fun; 85% of membership attended. High marks about the
food and beautiful give-a-ways. Thank you Lisa and Judy!!
CONGRATUATIONS to Lisa Copeland for receiving the 2015 Golden
Palette Award; a well-deserved honor.
The new board met the Monday before Christmas to review our
finances and set the budget for 2016. You all will have the
opportunity to approve at our February meeting. We have finished
once again this year with a gain; this is a reflection of your service,
dedication and contributions. We couldn’t have done it without all
the talented, hardworking and generous ladies in the chapter.
I hope you are looking forward to Paint-In. We, “Cumming
Members” are working hard to make this an event to remember.
Please send your registration in.
Ann, our new VP of Programs is working hard on the seminars and
after meeting projects. Remember the new date for Basket Bonanza
is April 30th. I hope you are decorating a table and getting your
baskets ready for the raffle.
Let us move forward this year by embracing the idea of participating
in the monthly meetings, and bring friend and family to encourage
membership growth.
Ladies, we still have four committee positons open; please think
about serving on one. See you soon!
Edith

Basket Bonanza will be on April 30, 2016 at 10:30 am. The event will be at the Hazel Creek Baptist Church.
243 Hazel Creek Rd. Mt. Airy Ga 30563. The following information is what every member needs to know to
participate.
ALL MEMBERS should preparer two baskets to be raffled. Baskets should contain a painted item as well as
new unopened goodies. The baskets may be any theme you choose and wrapped in cellophane or mesh so the
contents may be seen. It is important for all members to participate in this event to generate funds for our
chapter.
In addition to baskets we are also accepting other items; like Framed Art, painted furniture, handmade items
etc. All baskets should be turned in before 10:30 am on Saturday to give guests ample time to see them and
purchase tickets. If you are unable to be at the Church prior to 10:30 you may bring your baskets to the April
meeting or give them to another member near you.
Raffle tickets will be on sale beginning at 10:30; the cost is 26 tickets for $10.
The cost of the luncheon tickets is $15.00. This includes lunch, desert and a painted gift from their
hostess. Edith and Gloria will be catering lunch for us.
If you have lunch tickets left to sell please let me know ASAP; I may be able to sell them for you. Also if you
need a ticket let me know as well; we always have room for everyone.
We would like to encourage members to host tables.
So, if you would like to host a table, but are unable to paint for or sell 8 or 10 tickets you may do a table for 6.
Hostess responsibilities:
Table cloth for 72x30” table. 8 to 10 guests need two. 6 guests need one.
Name tags for each guest at your table
Centerpiece to be won by a guest at your table
Party favor/painted item for each guest at your table
Water and tea pitcher for your table
We will be at the Church on Friday afternoon at 3 pm setting up. You may come at this time if you wish to set
up your table. It would also be a good time for you to bring your baskets.
ALL members need to help clean up after, if everyone pitches in it only takes a few minutes.
Everyone’s participation is appreciated.

Ways and Means, Continued
There are some changes this year concerning Basket Bonanza
The tickets will be $15.00
If you would like to host a table but are unable to sell 8 tickets, you may do a table for 6.
Although each member should donate two baskets, we are also accepting other items for the raffle.
Framed Art
Painted furniture (small items, i.e., chair, table, etc.)
Handmade items, etc.
Please keep in mind that it is "Basket Bonanza" so we need lots and lots of baskets. All items should be nicely
displayed.
We will be having Birthday Raffle at Paint In so if you have a birthday in Dec, Jan, Feb or March please bring
your painted gift to me there.
I would like to thank Judy for all of her help with Christmas Luncheon. Most especially the
wonderful food and appetizers; Judy always adds so much to an event with her attention to
detail and thoughtful touches.
We will also be having a Silent Auction at our April meeting. Details will be given at the February meeting.
Thank you all for the Golden Palette Award, I appreciate all of you.
If you have any questions concerning the changes at BB please call or email me.
