CATHEDRAL ANNOUNCEMENTSThe Cathedral clergy and staff extend sincere condolences to the family of Deacon Ralph von Ruden who passed away on December 24. A funeral liturgy for Deacon Ralph will take place in the summer. We are so very grateful for Deacon Ralph’s faithful service to our parish. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Incense will be used at the 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 11:30 AM Masses in celebration of the Baptism of the Lord on January 10. If you have a sensitivity to incense, please know that you may be seated in the gathering space or adoration chapel. North Dakota March for LifeJanuary 29
A group of dedicated pro-life people and organizations have come together to organize a powerful pro-life event at the ND state capital on Friday, January 29 for all those unable to travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in the national March for Life.
Schedule11:00 AM Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit with celebrant Bishop David Kagan, immediately followed by march (or drive) to the state capitol12:30 PM to 1:00 PM Rally with program at the capitol steps
Participate In-PersonThe North Dakota March for Life will take place at the state capitol in Bismarck. The centerpiece of the rally will be a moment of silence in recognition of the 62 million lives lost to abortion. Participants will stand 6 feet apart across the capitol grounds, with masks on, in silence for those who will never be heard. Use the hashtag #NDMarchforLife when sharing your photos on social media. More information will be posted at www.umary.edu/ndmarchforlife for public participation.

• Holy Communion may be received either in the hand or on the tongue. Disinfecting wipes will be readily available if the priest, deacon, or instituted acolyte should need them during distribution of Holy Communion.
• The offertory collection is taken up by hospitality ministers using long-handle collection baskets. There will still be no passing of baskets by parishioners from pew to pew. If you prefer to use the donation drop boxes at each entrance, please feel free to do so.

Day of Prayer: On January 22, the Church in the United States observes the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. This day is set aside to pray for the legal protection of human life and to do penance for the violations to human dignity through abortion. We are called to observe this day through prayer and penance. On Friday, January 22 we will have Eucharistic Adoration in the main body of the church from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, beginning with singing of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Please join us in prayer for the legal protection of human life.

Today we celebrate the feast of the Epiphany, when the Magi find the newborn king and offer Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. In the spirit of the Magi, please give your financial gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that comfort and peace can once again be given to a newborn child. COMMUNITY NEWSCome in prayer to heal our nation. A patriotic rosary dedicates one Hail Mary in a traditional Catholic rosary to each state of the United States and asks God’s protection and guidance of our nation.
