January 27-28, 2021| Sponsorship Prospectus
Subsurface is where Data Architects and Data Engineers come together to explore what’s below the surface of the cloud data lake.
Whether you are looking to expand your technical knowledge or hear from your peers about their data lake use cases, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and engage. Plus you might have a little fun along the way.
The event is totally virtual and open to everyone, everywhere—free of charge.
Event overview
Data EngineersData engineers build the pipelines that transform that data into formats that data analysts and scientists can use. They are software engineers who integrate data from various resources and well as design and build the required infrastructure, including data lakes. They are responsible for writing queries to make sure that data is easily accessible as well as running ETL on big datasets and creating data warehouses that can be used for reporting or analysis.
Data ArchitectsData architects are responsible for designing, creating, deploying and managing an organization's data architecture. For the most part, they are more senior data engineers and are therefore quite technical. However, they are involved in making technology recommendations rather than hands-on work on the data infrastructure. They are typically familiar with the broad data landscape including both data
warehouses and data lakes.
Data Warehouse Administrators/OwnersData warehouse administrators are responsible for the day-to-day activities of running a computer data warehouse. Our primary objective would be to educate them on how to limit their workloads and ETL.
Data Lake OwnersThe data lake owner is the economic buyer in either central IT or a specific business unit. They are responsible for selecting and implementing the right infrastructure and processes to support data analytics. As such, fast time to analytics is one of their top business issues along with maximizing the productivity of their data teams and minimizing the cost of the analytics infrastructure to drive ROI. Titles vary and could include Director/VP/Head of Data Engineering, Data Architecture or Analytics, or perhaps the Chief Data Officer.
