Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,
Oh How Happy They All Are! Thank you to all who helped to make the holiday wishes of 73 children come true by
“Reaching for the Stars!” We have had several heartfelt “thank yous” from the CASA volunteers and I know we helped make the children very happy. Our In-Kind donation for January is for the USO at LAX. Diane Fisher will be in charge of this collection, so please look for her wish list of what to bring on page one of this newsletter and make the lives of our active military a bit nicer.

FUNDRAISING Elaine Trotter, VP Fundraising 310-722-2169 [email protected]
After eleven days of wrapping gifts, our Holiday Wrap fundraiser is over. Thanks to all of the 96 ladies who volunteered! It takes a TEAM: the scheduling, bringing everything from our clubhouse to the mall, setting up, the actual wrapping, and at the end, returning everything back to our clubhouse.
Special thanks go to Linda LeRoy and Jan Fleming who opened our kiosk daily. Jan also replenished all the supplies every morning as needed. Jo-Ann Conlin kept track of the daily monetary accounting. The lovely bows were made by Jo Ann Shaw, MarySue Brubaker and Mary Ralls. Many members donated beautiful ribbon, tape, doodads and other needed items. Also, thanks to Irene Cotter, Betty Herring, Angela Simmons, Rose Osten, Mary Essman, Terri Premeaux, Dona Stevens and Ania Hammond who worked not just one or two shifts, but more! We all worked together. Remember, NWC is all about volunteerism and raising funds to support education and charitable services.
A big THANKS! to EVERYONE!!!

STUDENT ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
Presenting this year’s Contest Poster! The poster will be available in January to display in all nine schools throughout Manhattan Beach that participate in our annual contest when all the students are back from their holiday winter break. The students can get the contest entry forms either from their school office or our NWC website under the Philanthropy tab. Thirty of you have volunteered to help in one way or another with this contest whether it be selecting art, organizing, setting up and or final prep the day of the art show. I will be sending an email out in the next few weeks contacting you and giving more information. Our NWC fundraising efforts allow us to award cash prizes to over 150 students. All entries are judged by local professional artists. This event is well attended by family and friends. Our goal is to recognize and encourage young artists. We invite all members to come to this great community event showcasing the creative artwork of the local students. The Student Award Show will take place in our clubhouse on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 1:00pm.
Contact: Teresa White, Art Chair at [email protected] with any questions or to volunteer your help. Thanks!
