Fairview Church of the Brethren Newsletter January 2020 SHARONS SHARINGS If you were not able to be at Fairview Sunday when the children led our worship service, you missed a special time. Garrrett & Allen Pace; Hayden, Landon, Wyatt, Denver & Lincoln Brinegar; Zachary, Caselynn, Eden & Astrid Mason; Gracie, Daylen & Dalton Lawson; Ellie & Jameson Quimby led our service and message. The musical prelude by Gracie at the piano, and Hayden on the saxo- phone, prepared the way. Written by Kim and organized by Kim and Joie, most of the children had reading parts that accentuated the theme, Light”. The Childrens Choirand the Iy Biy Childrens Choirdelighted us all. I especially was blessed to see the Dads geng the Iy Biychoir members in place at just the right me. The tap duo, by Gracie and Caselynn to the song, Angels We Have Heard on High”, raised our hearts in praise and made me want to dance with them. Those who spoke were clear, disnct and prompt as they read their script and Scripture readings. More can be said about these sixteen young ones, but I think it is safe to say everyone was touched in some way by their ministering to us. Their message: So this year, when you walk When you drive When you joyfully tuck presents Let the star perched atop it remind you of the star on that special night, many years ago, when the Light of the World was born. Let the candles glimmering on your windowsills remind you that you are the reflecon of Jesuss light....Let the twinkling stars in the sky up above remind you that in a world full of Herods, wise men sll seek him. Let the voices of the children in our church remind you that you, too, have a giſt to give back to the Lord. Whether its through song, or dance, through sharing scripture, or stories, let your life shine with the light of Jesus this Christmas season, and all year long. They closed with the song This Lile Light of Mineand the children gave an ornament of light to each one present as a reminder of the message of Light”. The Benedicon: May the beauful light of every Christmas season remind us of Him, who is the source of all light. SHARON’S SHARINGS

If you were not able to be at Fairview Sunday when the children led our worship service, you missed a special time. Garrrett & Allen Pace; Hayden, Landon, Wyatt, Denver & Lincoln Brinegar; Zachary, Caselynn, Eden & Astrid Mason; Gracie, Daylen & Dalton Lawson; Ellie & Jameson Quimby led our service and message. The musical prelude by Gracie at the piano, and Hayden on the saxo-phone, prepared the way. Written by Kim and organized by Kim and Joie, most of the children had reading parts that accentuated the theme, “Light”. “The Children’s Choir” and the “Itty Bitty Children’s Choir” delighted us all. I especially was blessed to see the Dads getting the “Itty Bitty” choir members in place at just the right time. The tap duo, by Gracie and Caselynn to the song, “Angels We Have Heard on High”, raised our hearts in praise and made me want to dance with them. Those who spoke were clear, distinct and prompt as they read their script and Scripture readings. More can be said about these sixteen young ones, but I think it is safe to say everyone was touched in some way by their ministering to us. Their message: “So this year, when you walk …When you drive …When you joyfully tuck presents …Let the star perched atop it remind you of the star on that special night, many years ago, when the Light of the World was born. Let the candles glimmering on your windowsills remind you that you are the reflection of Jesus’s light....Let the twinkling stars in the sky up above remind you that in a world full of Herods, wise men still seek him. Let the voices of the children in our church remind you that you, too, have a gift to give back to the Lord. Whether it’s through song, or dance, through sharing scripture, or stories, let your life shine with the light of Jesus this Christmas season, and all year long.” They closed with the song “This Little Light of Mine” and the children gave an ornament of light to each one present as a reminder of the message of “Light”. The Benediction: “May the beautiful light of every Christmas season remind us of Him, who is the source of all light. Amen.”

May God continue to bless each of you as we begin the New Year and live out this message.

I love you all, Pastor Sharon

Death Row Support Project

“You have the power to change the isolation of death row. You can bring a ray of light and hope through dis-mal darkness. At the same time that ray of light might touch your own heart and teach you things you never imagined.” Michael Ross was executed in Connecticut on May 13, 2005.

I was involved with a prison ministry while I lived in NM. It was a blessing and I learned a lot.

If you feel or think this is something God is putting on your heart to be involved with talk with me, Emily Penner for more information or

go to this site and learn more. http://www.brethren.org/drsp/resources.html
