The weekend after our awards ceremony at the American Art Company, Jeremy Lipking held a two-day workshop. Here are a few photos from that weekend.

Day 1 - Jeremy painted yours truly! I’ve never been on that side of the canvas before, it was an interesting experience! Day 2 - Jeremy had a real model to paint, and his painting was stunning!

Our Preliminary Schedule is live on the PleinAirWashington.com Website. Take a look to see where we plan to paint this year.

1st Paint-In of the year will be February 21 at ArtWorks in Edmonds. You will receive an invitation with details soon. As usual we will have a model or two, along with several still life set-ups. If you are not a seasoned plein air painter and would like to learn more about how to do it and what to bring, please be sure to join us! We will be providing check lists for what to take with you for oils, pastels, and watercolors. We will give a brief presentation on different pochade boxes, and their pros and cons. There will also be an art supply sale/swap meet should you be interested in bring supplies you no longer use, or might be in the market for something new (ie. gently used)! Our potluck lunches are always delicious, and it is great to have the opportunity to visit with fellow artists and old friends, and meet new friends!

Special painting trips that will take some advance planning.

July 5 – 12 Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada! Jasper is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it's only

600 miles from Seattle. We plan to meet in Jasper Sunday evening,

July 5. We will paint for 5-6 days. There may be an optional trip

afterwards to Banff and Yoho Parks, adding 3-4 more days. If you

are interested in going, please contact Paula Ensign at

[email protected] as soon as possible.

August 23 – 28 Camp Casey with the NW Pastel Society! Lodging at the Bachelors Officers Quarters is just $150 for five

nights. The Northwest Pastel Society has invited us to join them for

a week of painting, breaking bread, and sharing our art. We need at

least 20 people to confirm interest to move forward. More details

to come! September 25 – 27 Mt. Baker, Mt. Shuksan with the Alpine Club of Canada, a Vancouver, BC group of hikers and painters. Last September while painting at Mt. Baker, we bumped into a group of hikers and painters who were staying at the Mt. Baker Lodge. This is a dorm like facility that sleeps 62 people. We are in the initial planning stages for this trip, but they would like to meet up with us this weekend and all stay at the lodge together. More details to come!
