Wynonna Engaged Over Holidays!

Country music icon Wynonna Judd and musician boyfriend Cactus Moser, of award-

winning country group Highway 101, got engaged on December 24th. Wynonna and

Cactus are presently touring together as Wynonna and The Big Noise.

About Wynonna Judd

Five-time GRAMMY Award winning artist and New York Times best-selling au-

thor Wynonna Judd first gained fame as part of one of the most successful musical

duos of all time, The Judds. On top of that amazing feat, she also holds multiple

gold, platinum and multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA in excess of 30 million units sold for albums re-

leased throughout her illustrious 28-year career. Wynonna recently reunited with her mother, Naomi, for a final

Judds tour in 2010, The Last Encore. During this time, the iconic duo invited cameras from the new Oprah Winfrey

Network (OWN) to capture their unprecedented moments together as they navigated the intricacies of their first tour

in 10 years. The television docu-series, “The Judds” debuted in April 2011 with the highest rated premiere outside

of OWN‟s launch week and boasted the highest rated season finale in OWN history.

About Cactus Moser

Cactus Moser garnered fame as a founding member and stylistic drummer of the four-time Vocal Group of the year,

Highway 101. In the later 80‟s, Highway 101 charted 16 Top Ten hits, 5 of which went to Number One, with their

debut album immediately being certified Gold. Now, in 2011, Moser continues to tour with Highway 101 as well as

his new fiancée Wynonna.

Wendy Holcombe’s music career and life was like a

brilliant shooting star that illuminated the night sky

for one all-too-brief moment.

At the age of 12 she first appeared on the Grand Ole

Opry and made international tours with Bill Monroe,

Mac Wiseman and Perry Como.

She died in 1987

at the age of 24.

Adonda Records is proud

to present this legacy of

Wendy’s outstanding music.

Jones, The Memphis Horns, Diana Ross and Gil Scott-Heron as Life-

cording Academy Neil Portnow. "It is an honor to recognize such a

diverse group of individuals whose talents and achievements have had

an indelible impact on our industry."

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors performers who have made contributions of outstanding artistic signifi-

cance to the field of recording while the Trustees Award recognizes such contributions in areas other than perform-

ance. Both awards are determined by vote of The Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. Technical

GRAMMY Award recipients are determined by vote of The Academy's Producers & Engineers Wing Advisory

Council and Chapter Committees as well as The Academy's Trustees. The award is presented to individuals and

companies who have made contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.

About the Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees:

As pioneers of Southern rock, The Allman Brothers Band created a unique sound blending elements of blues, coun-

try, jazz and rock. Known for their outstanding improvisational and jam-style shows, the band's breakthrough al-

bum, 1971's At Fillmore East, is a definitive live concert recording. The band has achieved artistic and commercial

success with hits such as "Whipping Post," "Ramblin' Man" and "Jessica," the latter having earned them a 1995

GRAMMY for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. In 1995 the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of

Fame.

During his 50-plus years in show business, five-time GRAMMY winner Glen Campbell has released more than 70

albums. In 1967 he won GRAMMYs in both country and pop categories for his hits "Gentle On My Mind" and "By

The Time I Get To Phoenix," respectively. Campbell has three recordings in the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame and has

also been inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the famed Wrecking Crew, Los

Angeles' group of top studio musicians in the '60s. In 2011 he released his farewell album, Ghost On The Canvas,

which featured collaborations with Jakob Dylan, Chris Isaak and Billy Corgan, among others.

Widely known as the composer of the GRAMMY-winning "The Girl From Ipanema," arranger, singer and pianist/

guitarist Antonio Carlos Jobim* was influential in the creation of the Brazilian bossa nova style and its international

popularity. His songs and arrangements have been performed by numerous artists around the world. In 1995 he won

a posthumous Best Latin Jazz Performance GRAMMY for his album Antonio Brasileiro.

Trumpeter Wayne Jackson and tenor saxophonist Andrew Love comprise one of the greatest and most recorded horn

sections, The Memphis Horns. Early in their career, the duo appeared on nearly every Stax Records recording, help-

ing the label define its sound. Known for their unique funk/soul style, the Musicians Hall of Fame inductees have

appeared on recordings for artists such as Al Green, Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, and U2.

As one of the most prolific country artists in history, George Jones has had more than 150 hits over his half-century

career. From honky tonk to country ballads, he has remained at the top of the charts with hits such as "White Light-

ning," "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "Still Doin' Time." Jones is a two-time GRAMMY winner, Country

Music Hall of Fame inductee and a Kennedy Center Honors recipient. At 80 years old, he continues to tour, playing

more than 60 shows each year.

In the 1960s Diana Ross led Motown act the Supremes, one of America's most successful vocal groups. In the

1970s, Ross began her solo career and had continued success with hits such as "Love Hangover," "Upside Down"

and "Missing You." In her nearly 50 years in the entertainment business, she has sold more than 100 million albums

and has received a number of accolades for her work, including a Golden Globe and Tony Award and has been a

Kennedy Center Honors recipient. Ross recently toured the country with her More Today Than Yesterday tour and

will continue touring into 2012.

With his unique fusion of jazz, blues and spoken word, Gil Scott-Heron* 'smusic influenced the creation of the rap

genre. The first artist signed to Arista Records, his recordings such as "Johannesburg" and "The Revolution Will Not

Be Televised" were known for their sharp lyrics that commented on social and political issues. His songs also helped

tell stories of African-Americans in the United States. Scott-Heron continued to record up until his death in 2011,

releasing his most recent album, I'm New Here, in 2010.

Wonder. In the 1970s he began a decades-long relationship with Steely Dan, which earned him six GRAMMY

Awards including an Album Of The Year award for his engineering work on 2000's Two Against Nature. He also

earned a Best Musical Album For Children GRAMMY in 1997 for producing the John Denver album All Aboard!

In addition to his work as an engineer, he was an innovator in creating new technology for audio tape preservation,

mastering and digital synchronization. A pioneer in the technique of digital drum replacement, his Wendel sampling

computer is a technology still common in music production today.

Collin Raye

PG 8 www.countryentertainmentusa.com

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have

been called according to his purpose” - Romans 8:28 (NIV).

Collin Raye‟s new CD entitled

His Love Remains is a shining

example of that scripture - having

experienced the pain of watching

his granddaughter, Haley Marie

Bell, struggle with an undiag-

nosed neurological disease for over six years until her

death in 2010 put Collin on a faith-testing journey and

yet despite his unanswered prayers, Collin‟s faith is

stronger now than ever.

With each passing hour, day and year, Collin and his

family continually prayed for Haley - asking for every-

thing from total healing to pleas that the pneumonia

would not come back, but to no avail. Yet, even though

the battle was lost in this life, Collin came to realize that the final victory was still theirs, because for the time that

Haley was on this earth - they had a very special angel in their midst.

From that pain came a renewed faith that led Collin to record the inspirational project he had wanted to do for over

20 years. The CD, His Love Remains, is dedicated to Haley. Collin comments, “She definitely inspired me not

just to make this record but to devote whatever time I have left on this earth to doing God‟s will. I just want to do

things that make Him happy and make her happy. And I know she‟s there watching and so therefore, it was very

easy to have her as my inspiration. When I was recording actually doing the vocals, I had my rosary draped around

the lyrics and a picture of her on a sheet, which kept me focused. I just wanted to remember everything that I was

recording was dedicated to God and to her. I think you can feel that as you listen to it. It was an emotional record

for me in a really good way, almost therapeutic.” The end result is a personal testament to faith and family with

Collin‟s signature heart-wrenching vocals.

For this labor of love, Collin picked some of his favorite hymns from the obvious to the obscure including “How

Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” and “I Am The Bread Of Life.” However, this collection also includes

“Undefeated” written with his daughter as well as a remake of his country hit, “Love Remains.”

While this is Collin‟s first inspirational project, looking back through his music, Collin has recorded numerous

“message” songs. His first single, “Love Me,” propelled him into the limelight. When asked about that first album,

he remembers, “We were looking for hit records, period…but after „Love Me,‟ when I saw the impact of what a

song could do for people…and when I realized that I could be responsible, or at least indirectly responsible, for re-

cording a piece of music that could help people and help them in the struggles of their life…from that point forward

I was on a mission…My goal was always to record songs that were going to leave a mark and be remembered.”

And he accomplished that goal many times over. After “Love Me,” he also released songs like “Little Rock,” “In

This Life,” “Not That Different,” and “I Think About You” - just to mention a few. While those songs continue to

touch listeners every day, Collin is finding new ways to make a difference. Recently named as the National Spokes-

person for the Life & Hope Network, an organization founded by Terri Schiavo‟s family, Collin is bringing aware-

ness about the fundamental human right to life and is calling people to political action. Boldly standing with Terri‟s

family, he is committed and passionate about the message - this is not a campaign for his own publicity - in his heart

and soul he believes that everyone has a right to life and doesn‟t want anyone else to go through what Terri and her

family did several years ago.

With a successful country music career, which includes 16 #1 hits, it would be easy to sit back and rest on past suc-

cess, but when speaking with him, it is obvious that is not his plan. Collin Raye is even more passionate about the

music and the message than ever before…with the release of His Love Remains and a new book on the horizon…it

is obvious that Haley is smiling.

JOAN OSBORNE RELEASES THE BLUES-INSPIRED BRING IT ON HOME

Joan Osborne recalls how “Blues music rescued me when I was in need of rescue.”

On her newest album, Bring it on Home, Joan returns the favor and it‟s the blues that gets

new life. Drawing from a voice the New York Times called “angelic ecstasy and sexual

abandon,” Joan Osborne has at long last made an album of vintage blues, R&B and soul

songs. Bring it on Home will be released on March 27th (Saguaro Road Records).

A collection of some of her favorite classic songs, Bring it on Home is Osborne‟s tribute to

the music she has long loved and drew inspiration from. “I knew that, someday, when the

time was right and my voice was ready,” Osborne says, “I wanted to make a recording like

the one you‟re holding now.” With vocals that growl and soar, Osborne alternately cries out with heart-wrenching

soul and foot-stomping grooves.

“The voices of Otis Redding and Al Green soothed a troubled soul, the power of Etta James and Tina Turner gave

me courage, and the depth of feeling of Muddy Waters and so many other great blues artists allowed me to find and

express my own depths,” explains Osborne. “When I began to sing in New York City in my early 20‟s, I wanted

nothing more than to model myself on these people, to inhabit the music as they did in some small way.”

She personally selected the obscure gem “Roll Like A Big Wheel” from her own record collection and added rock

n‟ roll-fueled urgency to it. She also dug deep into John Mayall‟s work and came back with “Broken Wings,” where

her vocal performance draws both goosebumps and tears. The often overlooked Ike Turner-penned “Game of Love”

was another treasure Osborne chose to record, and during the sessions an impromptu rendition of “Shake Your

Hips” made its way onto the album. “Shake Your Hips” is the lead track off of Bring it on Homeand will be shipped

to radio stations in January for airplay.

Bring it on Home also includes tracks originally made famous by American blues masters such as Sonny Boy Wil-

liamson (“Bring it on Home”), Muddy Waters (“I Want to Be Loved”), as well as recordings originally released by

some of the greatest R&B singers ever including Ray Charles (“I Don‟t Need No Doctor”), Al Green (“Rhymes”)

and Otis Redding (“Champagne and Wine”).

Bring it on Home was produced by Joan and her longtime music director/guitarist Jack Petruzzelli. It was recorded

live in the Waterfront Studios in Hudson, NY by engineer Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz), who used an original 24

track Studer tape machine to recreate the warm and organic analogue sound of the era. Guest musicians include

Barbecue Bob Pomeroy (harmonica), Allen Toussaint (piano on his own “Shoorah! Shoorah!”) and vocalists the

Holmes Brothers and Rufus Thomas‟ daughter, Vaneese Thomas. Jimmy Vivino, Conan O‟Brien Show Band musi-

cal director, assembled all horn arrangements and also played electric piano on “I Don‟t Need no Doctor.”

Joan Osborne has sold millions of albums and garnered multiple Grammy nominations throughout her critically and

commercially acclaimed career. In addition to her own headlining tours, she has sung lead vocals for The Dead

(formerly the Grateful Dead) and was featured in the award-winning film Standing In The Shadows of Motown.

New Album Due March 27th

A lot of country music entertainers wear cowboy hats, but few are actual cowboys like

Ben Stillwater. Being from Montana gives Ben a unique perspective on true “country and

western” music and it‟s obvious he has a real respect for tradition. This album reflects that

background and includes a couple of his own songs entitled “Front Door Of Home” and

“Montana.” He‟s also included a rockin‟ favorite, “Johnny B. Good,” but with a tradi-

tional twist - Ben Stillwater style. Looking forward to more from this cowboy.

Charlie Painter‟s CD Thanks For Nothin‟ is traditional to the core. He selected four songs

from hit songwriter, Randy Albright, giving the project a solid song foundation. The no-

ticeably country production lends itself well to Charlie‟s vocals. Songs like “Cold As The

Stone In The Ring On Your Finger” and “The Fisherman Of Stony Creek” are reminiscent

of past country sounds. A nice walk down memory lane.
