Master Mason
From the East Brethren, Thank you for electing me as Worshipful Mas-ter for 2015. It is my great honor and privilege to serve Cannon Lodge. I truly appreciate all the help and kind support I received along the way as I ascended to the East. I am optimistic that with the help of the lodge offi-cers and brethren we can continue our work to improve our lodge and build our fraternity. As we enter a new year it is a good time to make resolutions and set goals. As Masons we are charged to work on improving ourselves and work on turning our "rough Ashler into a perfect Ashler” achieved by virtuous education, our own endeavors, and the blessing of deity. To endeavor to erect our spiri-tual building in accordance with designs laid down by the Supreme Architect of the Universe in the Great Book Of Life. Brethren the more we work towards these goals the greater the benefit to ourselves and those around us. Fellowship, encouragement, and support of Brethren at the Lodge help strengthen us and our Masonic Broth-erhood. Come out and participate. If you are not moving forward you are probably slipping back. Nothing stays the same. There will be no program for the January meet-ing. In addition to our normal business and balloting, we will discuss plans for the new year. I intend to form sev-eral committees in an attempt to involve more brothers and improve the effectiveness of the lodge. I would like to form committees for; maintaining and improving the Lodge building; health and welfare of the brethren and families; Lodge social events and charity work; and membership and communication. I will be asking for volunteers to serve on these committees which will be asked to report each meeting. This is your opportunity to participate and help improve your Lodge.
Fraternally, WM Emmitt Herron

Fun Fact: Edwin E. (Buzz) Aldrin, Jr., a member of Clear Lake
Lodge # 1417 in Texas, when he stepped onto the sur-face of the moon, carried a special deputation from his Grand Master to claim the moon as being in the territo-rial jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Texas. If you ever
go to the moon take your blue card and expect to be examined.
