A thousand years of enjoying human glory isnot worth even an hour spent sweetly com-

muning with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Kneel down and render the tribute of your

presence and devotion to Jesus in the Blessed

Sacrament. Confide all your needs to him,

along with those of others. Run to the feet

of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.- St. Padre Pio

    What is Adoration?

"Worship of the EUCHARIST.In the liturgy of the Masswe express our faith in the

real presence of Christ un-der the species of breadand wine by, among otherways, genuflecting orbowing deeply as a signof adoration of the Lord.'The Catholic Church hasalways offered and still

offers to the sacrament of the EUCHARIST the cultof adoration, not only during Mass, but also out-side of it, reserving the consecrated hosts with theutmost care, exposing them to the solemn venera-tion of the faithful, and carrying them in proces-sion.'[Paul VI, MF 56.]" 1378

1379. "The tabernacle was first intended for thereservation of the EUCHARIST in a worthy place sothat it could be brought to the sick and those ab-sent outside of Mass. As faith in the real presenceof Christ in his EUCHARIST deepened, the Churchbecame conscious of the meaning of silent adora-tion of the Lord present under the Eucharistic spe-cies. It is for this reason that the tabernacle shouldbe located in an especially worthy place in thechurch and should be constructed in such a way

that it emphasizes and manifests the truth of thereal presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament."(Excerpts from Catechism of the Catholic Church,1994 English translation)

If you read the Stewardship of Treasure sec-tion of the Bulletin each week, you will no-

tice that we have approximately 1,380 regis-tered families. However, the number offamilies making contributions each week is

always much less than that. Everyones fi-nancial situation is different, and that is un-derstood. Any contribution, large or small, is

much appreciated. For those families whodont regularly give, please consider the im-

pact that even a small regular donationwould make. If 100 families would makecontributions according to the table below,

that would result in an extra $590 per week, and more than $30,000 over the course of ayear!
