Mission Statement:
We, the Catholic Parishes of St. Philip Neri,
Sacred Heart, and Our Lady of Lourdes
seek to grow as disciples of Jesus and to
make disciples for Jesus.
Marriage Minute We often confuse humility with humiliation. To humiliate someone
means to injure their self respect or to make them feel ashamed. Humil-
ity, on the other hand, is simply regarding ourselves honestly, and it is
necessary for a happy marriage! When we lack humility, we tend to cut
ourselves down or puff ourselves up, or both. We become defensive,
argumentative and unforgiving.
In this weekend’s readings, both John and Jesus show great humility.
They know exactly who they are, and therefore they can accomplish
their missions. Put humility to work in your mission, too! • Ask forgive-
ness • Recognize that you and your spouse both have valuable opin-
ions • Ask God for an honest view of your own strengths and weak-
nesses • Focus on your spouse’s strengths, entrusting his/her weaknesses
to the Holy Spirit
To grow together in this virtue, attend www.archkck.org/livinginlove on
Feb 16-17.

HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT!
HOST FAMILIES are needed for Catholic high school exchange students
for the 2019-2020 school year. The students will arrive from Europe, Asia
or South America in mid-August 2019 and will stay with the host family
for one semester or until the end of the school year. They are in need of
caring American families (with or without children) to provide a home and
share with them this unique and rewarding experience. The host family
provides a bed, meals, friendship, understanding, and a genuine desire to
share the American way of life with a student from overseas. The students
speak English, are covered by medical insurance, and have spending
money for their personal expenses. Approved families can view student
applications and select the student that best matches their own family. For
more information, please call Jim Andra at 913-492-6459 or
e-mail at [email protected].
