    Mayor Bowser Appoints Saint Elizabeths Hospital CEO

    (WASHINGTON, DC) Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the appointment of

    Dr. James Kyle as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Saint Elizabeths Hospital.Dr Kyle will begin service on Wednesday, March 2nd.

    Dr. Kyle is a nationally board certified health care executive with over thirty years of

    experience in the medical field,said Mayor Bowser. I am confident that Dr. Kylespassion and leadership will be beneficial to the Department of Behavioral Health

    team.

    Dr. Kyle started his career as a registered nurse. His experience spans the health carefield both in and outside government, having served as a hospital executive director,

    director of nursing and patient care services, and clinic director of outpatient services forveterans. He also has served as a college professor and chief diversity officer. Before

    joining the health care profession, Dr. Kyle served in the United States Army as an activeduty and reserve soldier.

    I also would like to thank Interim CEO, Dr. Beth Gouse for her continued

    commitment to serving the District,continued Mayor Bowser. Dr. Gousesunwavering dedication to patients and public service is reflected in her more than

    twenty years of service at Saint Elizabeths Hospital.

    Dr. Kyle has received his Bachelors degree from Bethel College and Masters degreesfrom American Sentinel University, Georgetown University, Grantham University, and

    Touro University International and a conferred Doctoral degree in Leadership. Dr. Kylealso has completed graduate-level certificate training at Cornell University and Harvard

    Saint Elizabeths Hospital is the Districts public psychiatric facility for individuals withserious and persistent mental illness who need intensive inpatient care to support their
