NEWS LETTER - 9 (25 July 2013)

Dear All

It is election time in Zimbabwe! Loads of rumours are flying around but we personally had no negative experiences of any kind. A group of Americans visited Morningstar in the Matopos with some staying behind to work in the communities around the farm. Often they would visit us and Kyle Francis stayed with us for a few days with the specific purpose of walking the streets to evangelise, to share the love of Jesus with people. GENERAL It is fun serving GOD! By saying that, I mean we laugh a lot outwardly and inwardly. We see people being healed. We all know the story about Peter and his shadow that healed people. We experienced a similar thing but at night, so no shadow. During a recent Friday night outreach to the city centre, we had a few guys lined up for prayer. a one to one basis giving them the opportunity to get rid of emotions and feelings of guilt. As Karin puts it, they will have an opportunity to sit at the feet of Jesus. After finishing the meeting with the church leadership, I went down passing the Hustler night club. Their "day crew" were playing pool and we started to chat. In an effort to break the ice, I informed them that we just bought the cinema, that we are going to shut the church down, and turn it into a mega brothel... They were upset and stated that closing the church would be a bad thing. Knowing that they were selling liquor for a living,

I questioned there religious value system and they stated that they were all Christians and very good people. Using our Way of the Master method, it was quick to prove that they were really bad sinners and not good at all. We then got serious and I explained that their and my own sin is exactly the reason why we are in need of a Saviour. They were delighted that the church will remain and invited me to visit and "evangelise" the guys in the night-club in a similar manner. We made new friends, people with a new regard for Jesus our Saviour. Muslims Kyle and I visited a second Mosque, a different sect to the main Mosque. This time however it was during the month of Ramadan. I must admit

that I was a bit nervous about what to expect. Fear easily drives me to my knees and we prayed! As per normal, we just go and sit in the back of the prayer area watching and praying as the do their thing. Kyle had a vision of a person with a green coat, a beard wearing a white "toppi" (a hat worn by Muslims. See picture.) Whilst praying, Kyle saw the guy from the vision, an Imam in training. A sense of excitement crept in... A Somalian Muslim approached us sharing about his travels to and his life in Zimbabwe. Calling us "brothers" he asked us to help him. We informed him that we were followers of Jesus and shared the good news with him inside the Mosque. On leaving we joked with some of the men (just to break the ice) and approached the Imam (their Priest) asking whether we can come visit him to chat to him about Christianity and Islam. Then we chatted to 3 fancy looking gentlemen. One in particular opened up without us prompting him. We shared the gospel with him and prayed with him. We contacted him the following day and he responded positively. Let's wait and see what happens... In the mean time, we are busy with Mavuto, the Ex-Sheik. He is growing in the LORD and is getting to a point where he is "fighting the good fight". I always use to disregard spiritual attack thinking that "if GOD is for me, who can be against me". This is true but

not all people know this and some allow satan to bully them in various ways. We are now in the month of Ramadan and being the ex-Imam, it is the first time that he is not "fasting" in 18 years. The fact is that he is not missing Ramadan, but that "Ramadan" is missing him. Many of his old community challenge him on various levels but he is standing strong! Mavuto was publically baptised on 23 June 2013. Prisons It is the second week that we have a great discussion with a passer-by outside of prison. Two weeks ago a person approached me for financial assistance stating that he is actually "in" prison for murder and that he was just released to visit the clinic. As we know the system, we confronted him stating that he was lying and that it is wrong. As we often say during our training courses, there is a person specifically waiting for you... The long and short is that Joyce lead him to receive Jesus as LORD and Saviour. This was a first time commitment and it is always great to witness the visible change as burdens get lifted. A similar thing happened as we shared with a miner who is

without an income. This guy went through hell during previous relationships with women. It was great to agree with him asking that GOD send him the right woman. We realised that there are gay sex and sodomy taking place in the prison. We chatted to the guards who stated that they had no proof. We approached an ex-prisoner and he gave us much insight. Around 75% of the prisoners are involved in some way whilst it is presumed that around 25% are actively taking part. It is upsetting and we decided to "preach" on the topic. As we are a mixed gender team, we gave the ladies a day of as we tackled the

issue. We were very blunt but the prisoners appreciated the teaching. With the guards present, not one person responded to our call for prayer... Seed was sown and the truth will set free. The prison authority was very supportive and asked that we print the teaching for distribution in the prison. Teaching and Training We recently presented evangelism training at the NG church in Gweru, now called Gweru Community Church. I had the privilege of preaching on the Sunday and we witnessed Jesus confirming HIS WORD in and through the lives of believers. Talking on "power evangelism" we stated that if we are believers, we are all power evangelists with signs following. We called for the sick to come forward and then invited believers to come and pray for them as described in Mark 16 verses 17 and 18 reading "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they will ... lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." We witnessed backs being healed; a woman receiving her sense of smell,

In our last news letter we shared on ancestral worshippers. The Chief was one until he realised that we all need a saviour and

you can not trust the Witchdoctor. In a setting like the Matopos, he received Jesus as LORD and Saviour.

another woman's leg grew by around 7cm etc. GOD's WORD is true and the people experienced Jesus' love for us first-hand.

7 Clocolan House From January to date, we hosted 327 people who physically stayed with us for at least one day and one night. As mentioned previously, it is an honour and we meet with great people of GOD who share their experience with us. Mighty Men's Conference Zimbabwe Part of our vision going to Zimbabwe was to unite the church in the country and to see revival come to Zimbabwe. We had no idea of how these goals would be achieved except that GOD said so. GOD works in mysterious ways.

On return from the Bushveld Mighty Men's Conference in Polokwane, Elton Liebenberg mentioned that we should have our own Mighty Men's Conference in Zimbabwe. We contacted Angus Buchan requesting him to speak at our MMC. We were invited to meet with Uncle Angus and Bruce Winship, one of his trustees, on Shalom farm to discuss organising the event. We did not spend a lot of time with Uncle Angus but his humility is very real and we walked away thinking that "if he can do it, so can we". In fact, any willing person can! He sincerely points to Jesus making it clear that on his own the conferences held at Shalom would have been impossible. The thing that differentiates him and the next guy is his simple faith and trust in GOD. In short, he is a great man of faith. We are seeing how the church in Zimbabwe is rallying around us in support. There is a great expectation that a MMC in Zimbabwe will turn this country upside down. It is our aim to get around 15,000 men together for this event. GOD is opening doors which we could not have imagined. We will keep you informed. OUTREACHES In short, and as is known to those familiar with us, we want to evangelise, witness as a way of life, daily. That is our goal. If we stir some people in the process, through example or training, praise GOD for that. Ultimately it is He who brings growth. Americans in Matopos I was invited to join a group of 30 American youngsters at Morningstar. Chris and Norma Ferguson's farm in the Matopos. They were serving the community in building a jungle gym and just by

blessing the community. Some of the team joined me as we walked from village to village praying for the sick and sharing GOD's goodness with the people. It was a lot of walking but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We showed the Jesus Film at the school. For some it was the first time ever they watched a movie. The story of Jesus impacted them as they saw and heard how and why Jesus came. Many gave their lives to the LORD. The highlight for me was when the local Chief, an ancestral worshipper surrendered his life to Jesus after about two hours of discussion. He initially stated clearly that he would not change religion, then he would take Jesus to be GOD but with the ancestors. It then came out that he was scared of the Nyanga, the witchdoctor based at Beitbridge. We showed him that the Nyanga is a mere man that controls him by fear. Once he understood that Jesus is the Almighty GOD, it was an easy decision. He had no reason to fear mankind and he left with a smile. I later found him walking purposefully back to the school. He stated that he was going to get a Bible from the Americans... There was already a change! We sent him a Bible and passed him on to the local Pastor who will care for him. WHAT ARE WE LEARNING - REALITY CHECK Hereby some tips on what we learn and experience. It may help you now or in future.

Sometimes you will be offended talking about Jesus to people. You will get the look, the grin or they will say "this is private". However, if we are really concerned about a person's relationship with the LORD, sometimes we must challenge people, sometimes we need to offend people into heaven!

I was late on my vehicle import permit and was facing the law! I pleaded guilty many times as the officer explained that they can impound my vehicle and give me a hefty fine. I kept on pleading guilty until he said "stop saying you are guilty, people don't do that!" Again I stated that I was in fact guilty. He could not handle it... Without any fine of any sort, he stamped my papers and "the truth set me free". I asked him whether he knew Jesus. He stated "no" but that he always wanted to be a Christian! That was easy. He surrendered his life to Jesus and I gave him a Bible!

You know the story of Jonathan and his armour bearer (1 Sam 14:1-14). Jonathan had no firm instruction from GOD to fight the Philistines. He just did what was right in his mind and stepped out trusting GOD. My prayer for us is that we will not have a faith that is up and down, a faith that is not based on feelings but a faith that will always believe that GOD not only can do for us, but that GOD actually will do for us. Our lives should not function on the waves of our faith; we should live lives of faith, we must be in faith, we should be faith as a way of life! Exercise your faith!

Karin, Steve and Jaco crossing a "dwala", a massive rock.

FAMILY Our church had a "bring and share" at Morning Star out in the Matopos Mountains recently and we cycled the 54km to the farm on our mountain bikes. Even though it was a tough ride (around 30km's are on sandy or corrugated dirt roads), it does feel good to say "I've finished". We enjoy the cycling, it keep us fit and creates opportunity for "alone time". Karin participated in the Tour De Falcon and came 3rd in the Social Woman category. Not to bad! It is going well with us this side. We have great friends, people who will really sacrifice for us. People that we love, not just for what they do, but for their hearts. There is a portion where the Bible teaches that you will have houses and family here and now. It is happening to us. NEEDS & PRAYER REQUESTS As mentioned, we are truly blessed and honour GOD for the people supporting us in various ways. Please pray for the following:

For the work around the Mighty Men's Conference.

For our residency applications to be approved. That it be approved somehow even in the current political climate prior to the elections. We have no issues permit wise staying here, but it would be way easier and cheaper. It will come!

Pray for our supporters and for even more support as the scope of our ministry increases.

Thank GOD for continued Bibles received from supporters. Thank you!! Should you need any further information, feel free to contact us.

Stay blessed, The Pitzer Family
