Employment History Virgin Care Ltd: November 2015 to present. Assistant Project Manager in the IM&T

Mobilisation Team managing the mobilisation and demobilisation of IT infrastructure within NHS services that Virgin Care provide.

Progress to Excellence Ltd: September 2014 – November 2015. Project Manager primarily overseeing an office design project as well as a conference for 300 attendees and smaller projects focused on the company’s primary business of training provision.

EDF Energy: July 2013 – September 2013. Summer placement on the monitoring team of the Graphite Core Project Team. Extremely valuable experience of work in an office environment as part of both an individual and team project.

Manchester University: July 2010 – September 2010. Performing stress tests on graphite to calculate Young’s modulus. Good experience of laboratory experimentation using high quality equipment.

Marad Ltd: May 2010-July 2010. Processing old numerical data with OCR. Good development of Microsoft excel skills.

Work Experience BAe Systems: August 2009. A taster week at BAe Systems as a systems engineer.

Assumed a lead role in a 5-person project. The objective was to design a profile of

aircraft to be pitched in a presentation to a mock buyer in front of a crowd of 60 people. As a leader of the project I made executive decisions on design and presentation, and helped manage personnel in the project to perform actions that suited their skill base. Out of the 4 participating teams ours was considered the best.

Youth Club Leader: September 2008 – April 2009. Led a youth group of 5-8 year olds. This challenged my leadership and responsibility

PBMR (Pebble Bed Modular Reactors): October 2007. Completed a 2-week long placement in South Africa as my first ever work experience. During this time, I conducted compressive tests on 1cm diameter spheres composed of a range of materials. My partner and I then wrote a lab report on our experiment. The experience gave me first hand experience of working for a scientific company as well as interpersonal skills and allowed me to apply knowledge into real situations.

Additional Qualifications and Awards Rugby Coaching Award Level 1 – Achieved March 2007.

Skills I have gained excellent laboratory skills during my time in education. I can practice

experiments efficiently and safely and produce clear, well devised reports of my results and conclusions.

I can use good initiative and foresight to see problems and act appropriately to solve them. I also react well in pressure situations when problems do arise.

I have very good team working skills, able at not only following but to taking a lead role as well. I can observe people’s strengths and weaknesses and assign them roles in a project accordingly.

I have a lot of presentational experience after presenting for an audience of 60 people for the BAe Systems taster week, as well as several presentations in my academic career.

Hobbies I am a keen enthusiast for music. I am currently teaching myself electric guitar and

keyboard and I am a member of the music society of Loughborough University. Learning music makes me a more diverse person and encourages my persistence and commitment.

I have always been a huge fan of sports, most notably golf (in which I have a current handicap of 9), rugby, American football and soccer. I represented my secondary school in these sports (barring American football), coming second out of 150 people in a golf tournament, winning the regional league in football and being the captain of the rugby league team for my school on several occasions. I also represented my school for cricket, athletics and long distance running. These sports have developed my team working skills, commitment and loyalty as well as leadership and responsibility. As well as this, I am an avid skier and snowboarder when I get the opportunity.

Additional I participated in the Liverpool Physics Olympics with my college. This involved various

team working exercises including physical and mental challenges. This was an enjoyable and valuable challenge of my scientific and interpersonal skills.

I have a full UK driving license. I have no criminal convictions.
