GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. A list of offices and telephones in the M-Building during the sixty-third session of the Commission on
Narcotic Drugs is annexed to this Journal.
Texts of written statements
2. Delegates who will deliver statements are requested to supply them in advance to the Meetings Management
Unit, preferably by email (to: [email protected]), or, alternatively, to provide printed copies of their
statement to the conference service desk in the Plenary Hall.
Documentation
3. As part of the efforts of the secretariat to reduce expenditure and limit the environmental impact through
the digitization of conference materials and documents, pre-session documents of the sixty-third session will
only be issued electronically, in all six official languages, on the website of the sixty-third session. Participants
who wish to use printed versions of the pre-session documents should bring their own copies.
4. During the session, each delegation will receive a single set of in-session documents, in the language of its
choice. At the documents distribution counter, each delegation will be assigned a distribution box for in-session
documents.
5. A journal containing the daily programme and other information related to the conduct of the session will
be posted on the website of the sixty-third session of the Commission every morning. A limited number of printed
copies will also be made available at the document distribution counter.
Languages of the sixty-third session of the Commission
6. The official languages of the meeting are the six official languages of the United Nations: Arabic, Chinese,
English, French, Russian and Spanish. Official documents of the meeting will be made available in all six official
languages.
Bilateral meetings
7. For the reservation of rooms for bilateral meetings between Member States, please contact the Meetings
Management Unit by email ([email protected]) or by telephone (+43-1) 26060-6564. When submitting
the request by email, Member States are reminded to include the date, time and proposed duration of the meeting
and the number of officials to be in attendance.

8. For reservation of rooms for informal consultations on draft resolutions, sponsors of draft resolutions can

Information and the media during the regular segment
9. Information on accreditation for members of the media who would like to cover the regular
segment of the sixty-third session of the Commission is available online

Wireless network connection
11. Wireless connectivity is available everywhere in the M-Building.
Photocopying services
12. The Secretariat is not in a position to provide photocopying services for delegations.
Conference rooms
13. Each seat in the conference rooms in the M-Building of the Vienna International Centre for which
simultaneous interpretation is available will be equipped with a portable receiving set a nd headphone.
Participants are requested not to remove that equipment from the meeting rooms so that it may be checked
periodically and the batteries recharged if necessary.
Travel settlements
14. Representatives of States members of the Commission who received the funded ticket from the United
Nations are kindly requested to scan their boarding passes and send them to the Secretariat to the Governing
Bodies ([email protected] [email protected] ).
List of participants
15. Delegations are kindly requested to submit corrections and additions to the list of participants in writing to
the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies (Room M0123, email: [email protected]).
Commissary privileges
16. Commissary passes will be issued upon completion of registration formalities to the following participants:
(i) Heads of Government delegations;
(ii) Professional staff members of specialized agencies and
(iii) All staff members of the United Nations assigned to the Commission from duty stations other
than Vienna.
Catering services
17. A cafeteria, a restaurant and a bar are located on the ground floor of the F building. The restaurant is open
from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. (reservations are recommended, email: [email protected]). The cafeteria is
open from 7.30 to 10 a.m. and from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. The coffee area in the cafeteria is open from
7.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. The delegate lounges in the M-Building (M0E) and C-Building (C07) are open from
9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The Quattro Uno Delegates Lounge in C04 is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Private luncheons
and receptions at the Vienna International Centre can be arranged by contacting the catering operations office
(email: [email protected]). The weekly Cafeteria menu and the Restaurant menu can be found here:

Travel services
18. American Express (Room C0E01) is available to participants requiring assistance with travel, car rentals,
sightseeing and excursions. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Banks
19. Banking service is available at the branch of Bank Austria, located on the first floor of C-Building. Opening
hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on
Thursdays.

Post office and faxes
20. A post office on the first floor of C-Building of the Vienna International Centre (ext. 4986) provides all
regular postal services, including a fax service, from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
First Aid
21. Medical attention is available from the clinic operated by the Joint Medical Services located at the Vienna
International Centre, F-Building, seventh floor (ext. 22224 and, for emergencies, ext. 22222). The clinic is open
from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. On Thursdays the clinic closes at 3 p.m. (except for emergency). Fo r emergency
assistance at other times, please contact staff in the Security Duty Room (Room F0E21, ext. 3903).
Access to the Vienna International Centre
22. Participants arriving at the Vienna International Centre by taxi are advised to disembark in the side lane
(Nebenfahrbahn) of Wagramer Strasse, register at Gate 1, walk across Memorial Plaza, proceed to entrance “A”
and follow the signs to M-Building. Participants arriving by metro (U1 line) should get off at the
“Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre” station, follow the signs marked “Vienna International Centre”,
register at Gate 1, walk across Memorial Plaza, proceed to entrance “A”, and follow the signs to M-Building.
23. There are no parking facilities for conference participants, except for permanent mission delegates in
possession of a valid parking permit.
Security
24. During the sixty-third session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, from 2 to 6 March 2020, the Austrian
authorities will be responsible for security outside the premises of the Vienna International Centre. The United
Nations Security and Safety Service will be responsible for security inside the Vienna International Centre.

25. For security reasons, conference participants are requested not to leave luggage, briefcases or laptops
unattended.
Lost and found
26. Inquiries for any items that are reported lost within the VIC premises should be made at the UNSSS Security
Operations Centre, room F0E18 (opposite the VIC Cafeteria). Telephone extensions 3903.
Emergency reporting
27. All emergency situations within the VIC should be reported directly through extension 99.
