Guided Rwanda to the Final of the CECAFA Challenge Cup 2015 (East & Central African Championship), Rwanda’s best performance at CECAFA for 16 years.
Led Rwanda to Quarter Finals of CAF Nations Championship 2016. The first time in their history the team had progressed to the knock out stages of a major tournament.
In first competitive game as Head Coach, guided Rwanda Senior men’s national team to their first competitive away victory in four years.
Named ‘Coach of the Tournament’ at the CECAFA Challenge Cup 2015.
Coached Rwanda to their biggest ever win in CAF/FIFA qualifying (5-0)

Key Achievements
Guided Sierra Leone to their highest ever rankings both continentally (7th in CAF) and globally (50th in FIFA)
Recorded an undefeated home record throughout role as Head Coach.
Guided the team to the final qualifying stages of the 2015 CAF Nations Cup, progressing through two knockoutqualification rounds.
Successfully negotiated with a number of second-generation Sierra Leoneans who had been born and grown up abroad to return to play for the country of their heritage, with a number having previously represented the country of their birth at youth international level.
Reduced the average age of the playing squad from 30 at the time of appointment to 23 over the course of 18months, whilst maintaining a competitive performance level and moving up in the FIFA World Rankings.
At the time of appointment, became the youngest Head Coach working in International Football, aged 27.

In addition to his work within the football industry as an elite level coach, Johnathanhas also extensive experience of working with all forms of the media industry.Previously Johnathan has appeared on television as a pundit for ITV during their 2015African Cup of Nations coverage as well as a guest on BBC’s Football Focus in 2014.
In addition to this Johnathan was a speaker at the 2013 SoccerEx conference in SouthAfrica, and has also had feature interviews with many of the leading television, radioand print media outlets such as Supersport, beIN Sports, Radio5 Live, TalkSport, TheGuardian, The Times and many more.
With the game of football constantly breaking new ground in terms of training methodology, sport science support and theintegration of performance analytics in pursuit of improved individual and team performance, there is a growing importancefor coaches to remain up to date with the variety of modern practices being employed at the elite level of the game.
To this end, in addition to the various FIFA and independent conferences that he attends, Johnathan has always dedicatedtime to continuous learning and developing his professional network through time spent with leading coaches and clubsthroughout the world. This has included official visits with Alan Pardew (Crystal Palace, 2016), Roberto Martinez (Everton,2015), Gary Monk (Swansea City, 2015), Robbie Neilson (Heart of Midlothian, 2016), Alan Archibald (Partick Thistle, 2016) andAlan Stubbs (Hibernian, 2015) amongst others in Europe, Asia and Africa.
