Unemployment Benefits - Will Hit Five Million

By End of 2014

Earlier in 2013 government benefits for nutritional assistance were reduced, by $40 billion, after the

expiration of emergency legislation that was enacted

following the 2008 financial collapse.

The move led to warnings from food pantries and

recipients around the country who said that the $40

billion in cuts would leave many American families without the ability to put food on dinner tables across

America.

But that was just the beginning:

Survivalist Guide Ecclesiasticus 1:18

The fear of the Lord is a crown of wisdom, making peace and perfect health to flourish; both which are the gifts of God: and it enlargeth their rejoicing that

love him.

Sea Salt & Baking Soda

The secret to surviving all forms of radiation

exposure is sea salt. If you are concerned about the radiation fallout from the Japan nuclear plants disaster

or if you had an X-ray (from hospitals and airport

screening) or radiation treatments for cancer, soak your body in sea salt (not iodized table salt) baths to help

pull out the radiation from your body. To pull the

radiation poison out of the body, try bathing in half a

cup of sea salt and half a cup of baking soda. Soak for at least 20-30 minutes, every day for three weeks or

every other day for six weeks.

A tiny pinch of good quality sea salt in several glasses of

distilled water each day will provide one with all the minerals and

trace elements you need to rid your body of the radiation and stay healthy. On the other hand if you were diagnosed with mouth or

throat cancer and you were subjected to deadly radiation

treatments gargling with baking soda mixed in water will help

neutralize the radiation.

Baking soda is so powerful in curing radiation

contamination that at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New

Mexico, researcher Don York has used baking soda to clean soil

contaminated with uranium. Sodium bicarbonate binds with uranium, separating it from the dirt; so far, York has removed as

much as 92 percent of the uranium from contaminated soil

samples. Still not convinced? Would it help to know that the United States Army recommends the use of baking soda to

protect the kidneys from radiation damage?

Radiation is very toxic. Exposure to radiation of any

amount is harmful to your body. Exposure to radiation through

x-rays (hospitals, or airport screening) or any of the so-called cancer treatments is the most dangerous source of radiation

poisoning. X-rays and radiation cancer treatments are far deadlier

than radiation fallout because the exposure is concentrated and frequent. But arming ourselves with arm & hammer and adding a

dash of sea salt into our baths can drastically improve our body’s

ability to detoxify itself from this polluted world.

Make Lemon Juice

There's an old saying you may have heard before "When life gives you lemons make

lemonade". Of course, what was being implied in

simpler terms is that when you encounter negatives in life turn them into positives. Though a great quote, it is

clearly more symbolic than literal. However iftaken

literally it suggests that people make one hundred other

life easing remedies excluding lemonade. Lemons are indeed that versatile. Nutritionally, lemons are great

sources of potassium, vitamin C, phosphorus, vitamin

B, antioxidants, magnesium, citric acid, and carbohydrates.

Lemon juice also possesses antibacterial and

anti-viral properties that grant it the ability to combat several diseases including cancer, diabetes, and heart

disease. They also can be used to treat high blood

pressure, expel mucus, relieve asthma, prevent kidney stones, reduce free radical damage, get rid of food

poisoning, treat infections, treat tooth aches as well as

gingivitis, reduce fevers, lower bad cholesterol, aid in

digestion, combat fatigue, stop nosebleeds, reduce allergies, and detox the body of various toxins.

Lemons have also been proven to be one of the most alkalizing foods on Earth. Outside of medicinal

uses, lemon juice can be used to disinfect garbage cans

as well as refrigerators, make a natural all purpose

cleaner, polish floors, furniture, jewelry, repel insects, deodorize cat litter, wash produce, remove stains, and

kill mold (in clothes), and freshen breath. Lemon juice

can also be used as a natural alternative to bleach when combined with hydrogen peroxide. As bitter as lemons

may be its value as a versatile natural alternative

exceeds that of its taste. Use lemon to make your life a

little easier and utilize its many benefits to make your lifestyle that much healthier.

Sister Ahlahayath’s Kitchen From the Tribe of Benjamin: Grilled Jerk Turkey

The Facts

Jamaica is known for many things when it comes to cooking. The most famous of all is probably the jerk recipe. We all know it and love it, especially on chicken, but have you ever tried it on turkey? Try this quick and easy recipe for new great taste. This Jamaican Jerk Turkey recipe can be used with any part of the turkey...not just the breast. I prefer to use the

breast as well as the tenderloin, and legs.

The Jerk recipe can be traced back to Jamaican slaves that escaped

from the British.

Be forewarned, if you cannot handle spicy-hot foods, jerk may not be

for you. Deletion of the chili pepper vastly changes the end product,

and it's just not jerk without the heat!

Words Of Wisdom

Psalms 40

Psa 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my

cry.

Psa40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Psa40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many

shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Psa40:4 Blessedis that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the

proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psa40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,

and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto

thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Psa40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened:

burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Psa40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Psa40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Psa40:9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not

refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

Psa40:10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy

truth from the great congregation.

Psa40:11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy

lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. Psa40:12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have

taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the

hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. Psa40:13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

Psa40:14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to

destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

Psa40:15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

Psa40:16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy

salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

Psa40:17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help

and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Nature’s Remedies

If ever you cook a dish that does not turn out the way you hoped, you can always add salt and pepper

to save the taste. How true the prior statement may be can be debated but what is true is that many people wholeheartedly believe that adding salt and pepper to a dish does boost its flavor. Personally, I also believe this to be true. On the other hand, as mainstream as salt and pepper are as food seasonings, little is known about their health benefits among common cooks, more specifically

black pepper. Scratching the surface with a little research can unveil just how important it is to add spices like pepper to your diet.

Originating in the Asia Minor region, more specifically India, this particular spice has been used and

prized since ancient times. Aside from its reputation as a seasoning, pepper was used at one point in time as a form a currency. Ancients used pepper to pay taxes and trade. What made pepper so highly prized back then was its versatility and health benefits. Today, much of black pepper’s benefits has been rediscovered and is utilized by

many health practitioners to treat various ailments. Black pepper is a good source of iron, vitamin C,

dietary fiber, manganese, potassium, and vitamin K. Black pepper is also anti-inflammatory, anti-biotic and anti-oxidant, which makes it a medicine as well as a spice.

When consumed regularly, black pepper has been has been proven to aid in digestion, combat arthritis, relieve gas, aid in weight loss, reduce free radical damage, prevent various forms of cancer, and boost metabolism. It has also been proven to increase the body’s ability to absorb nutrients from food (by up to 2000%), improve intestinal health, combat

diabetes, combat depression, protect against cardiovascular disease, combat tooth decay as well as toothaches, and increase blood circulation.

Externally, black pepper has been proven to

diminish vitiligo, skin wrinkles, acne, and excessive dandruff

in the hair. Black pepper can be added to dressings, sauces, fresh juices, teas, and various home-cooked dishes. It is best to add black pepper to food after cooking as adding pepper while food is cooking will cause its nutritional properties to diminish along with its aroma.

wise will not abhor them.

Are you suffering from symptoms or conditions

such as bleeding gums, anemia, weak bones, diabetes, malabsorption, osteoporosis, nosebleeds, bloody urine, easy bruising, or artery calcification? If so, there’s a great chance you’re experiencing a vitamin K deficiency.

In proper doses, vitamin K protects the body from

certain forms of cancer, helps the bones retain calcium, prevents calcification of the arteries, reduces inflammation

throughout the body, prevents diabetes, and premature aging. Vitamin K deficiencies are usually uncommon compared to other vitamin deficiencies and are usually a result of poor dieting.

To prevent or recover from a vitamin K deficiency

one should consume dark leafy green vegetables such as kale, spinach, parsley, swiss chard, brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, greens, lettuce, cabbage, sage, oregano, sage, and celery. Cucumber, blue berries, tomatoes, and leeks are also good sources of vitamin K.

Vitamin Watch

Many people often find themselves

overeating in the latter part of the evening after involuntarily skipping meals during a busy day. This is especially prevalent in the society we live in today where working eight to ten hours five days a week is the norm.

Overeating has also become a daily habit

for many people looking to counter stress, depression, and other uneasy feelings. Others have made overeating into a sport (ex: man vs.

food). Furthermore, though overeating has

become a cultural norm in countries like the

United States, the end results of overeating are part of the reason why the US and other developed countries have the highest obesity rates in the world. Moreover, overeating can be extremely detrimental to one’s health and even more dangerous when the wrong foods are over-consumed.

The Hebrew Health Tip of The Week: Refrain from Overeating

Though the symptoms are gradual in

most cases, consistently overeating can lead to weight gain, indigestion, bloating, flatulence, headaches, and sluggishness. Chronic overeating can lead to diabetes, stroke, memory loss, heart attack, cognitive decline, and even cancer.

Many steps can be taken to prevent

overeating such as frequently eating snacks and/or small meals throughout the day, not skipping meals especially breakfast, consuming more nutrient dense foods,

eating slowly, eating until 75 to 80 percent full, drinking more water, and consuming more foods that are high in fiber. Take control of your health and take the necessary steps today to eliminate overeating from your unhealthy habit list.

Nature’s Remedies Cont.

Studies estimate that 75% of our population suffers the ill health effects associated with chronic dehydration. Here is a quote from Nancy Hearn a well-known hydration specialist “Even though I had understood the importance of drinking water for many years, no matter how much water I drank, I just couldn't seem to get hydrated. My skin was dry and my mouth was often parched.” Sound familiar? Most of us have been living in a dehydrated state for many years (since childhood) without even knowing it! After a long period of time the body enters into drought

management mode that causes a series of chain events that effect normal bodily functions.

When the body loses water over time, a number of things happen. According to Dr. Batmanghelidj, acclaimed author of Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, the body

redistributes and regulates the amount of available water. So the available water is rationed and used where most needed. Water rationing allows the body to provide water for critical, life-sustaining functions. In the meantime, the less critical functions are put on hold. Dr. Dave Carpenter, N.D., author of Change Your Water, Change Your Life, writes:

“When cellular water is reduced during water rationing, each cell is required to limp along with less than the optimal amount of water. This results in symptoms that are sometimes mistaken for illness.” For example, high blood pressure, arthritis, asthma, allergies, digestive disorders and acid reflux are just a few of the conditions that are often an

indication of water rationing in the body.

In fact one of the most shocking side effects that I have discovered related to chronic dehydration is that chronic dehydration can actually suppress anti-body production. This means that the body will simply not be as

well equipped to deal with unhealthy invaders, such as pollen and other antigens. This is why Water rationing and long-term dehydration effects are significant. Likewise, the health benefits of drinking water and adequate hydration

are often miraculous.

Water 6 Simple Steps to Rehydrate Your Body

But don't be fooled--if you truly want to give water a chance, I encourage you to follow these guidelines strictly for at least three months. In other words, it's not a quick

fix.

If your body has been in drought management for many years, it won't readily believe the drought is over. You can think of pouring water over dry, parched desert ground. At first the water would just run off it

like concrete. But as you keep pouring, hour after hour and day after day, some of the water is going to start absorbing into the cracks and eventually the soil will begin to

soften.

Drink water instead of other fluids: Nothing replaces water in the body; avoid caffeine and alcohol as they only dehydrate the body.

Drink enough water daily: In order to rehydrate a dehydrated body, you need to

drink at least one-half ounce per pound of body weight daily. So, for example, if you weigh 180 pounds, you would drink 90 ounces (about 3 quarts) of water.

Measure and record your water intake: It's the only sure way to know how much water you are really drinking.

Filter your drinking water: I highly recommend drinking high-quality filtered water rather than tap water, bottled water, or de-mineralized water (such as reverse osmosis or distilled).

Drink regularly throughout the day: The body can only absorb about 12 to 16 ounces of water a time. The most important time to drink water is first thing in the morning.

Add high-quality salt to your drinking water: Sea salt (not processed salt) to your filtered water. Add about one-fourth

tsps.for each quart of water.

Disclaimer: Consult with your medical doctor or other health professional before

making any dietary changes.

The Green Thumb: Potatoes

Growing tips:

• Potatoes like plenty of sun, so avoid planting them in frost-prone sites, as these conditions can damage the developing foliage.

• Use an adequately drained container that's at least 30cm (1ft) deep and wide. Half fill the pot with multi-purpose compost or good quality, fertile garden soil, nestle two seed potatoes into the top of the compost and then top up

with more compost or soil to within 2.5cm (1in) of the rim of the container.

• It's particularly important that there's adequate water once the tubers have reached the size of marbles. Unless there's regular, ample rainfall, the size and quality of the crop will

be reduced if you don't water your potatoes.

What should you do with your potatoes that are growing spouts? Well should you throw them away NO I say try growing some potatoes. Who doesn’t like potatoes? Here is a couple ways you can grow your own. Use them to make mush potatoes, home fries, and twice baked potatoes. Normally you

would want to grow your potatoes in a field or a generous area of your backyard, but today we’re going to use 5 gallon buckets.

There’s a trick to growing high potato yields. As the potatoes grow, continue piling soil onto the

plants. This forces the plants to supercharge their root growth to keep up. Those roots are what we

call potatoes.

When growing potatoes in buckets, start with a couple inches of growing medium (compost works great) and build up the soil level as the season

progresses. There is a great video by Mel Bartholomew on you tube. While water is of utmost important in growing plants, properly draining excess water away is a close second.

Many people using this method have complained that their potatoes don’t produces as much as they should. This is most likely an issue of improper drainage. You have to drill drainage holes in your bucket if you are using it to grow plants! This applies not just for potatoes but also for any

plant grown in your buckets

Alternatively, you can fill the bottom few inches of your bucket with gravel. This is the same principle that indoor hanging baskets use to supply drainage. You just have to take care not to water your plant so heavily that the water level inside the

bucket reaches your soil layer.

Genesis 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it

was good.
