February I, 2016 Dear Parents/Guardians, For the second and third enrichment projects of the school year, I am assigning two reports for the month of February. The reports will be in celebration of Black History Month and President's Day. For the assignments your child will pick a Former President and write a research report, adhering the Rubric/Framework I have attached on the following pages. The Former President Report is due on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. The Historical/Famous African American Report is due on Friday March 11, 2016. For this assignment your child will write a report on a famous or historically significant African-American. Again, I have attached a rubric/ framework for the children to adhere and refer to while writing the report. While completing these assignments please help and encourage your child to use various resources such as reading books, a multitude of internet websites, video programs, etc. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me. Dear Parents/Guardians,

For the second and third enrichment projects of the school year, I am assigning two reports for the

month of February. The reports will be in celebration of Black History Month and President's Day.

For the assignments your child will pick a Former President and write a research report, adhering the

Rubric/Framework I have attached on the following pages. The Former President Report is due on

Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

The Historical/Famous African American Report is due on Friday March 11, 2016. For this assignmentyour child will write a report on a famous or historically significant African-American. Again, I have

attached a rubric/ framework for the children to adhere and refer to while writing the report.

While completing these assignments please help and encourage your child to use various resources

When Writing the Book Reports Please:

-- Label Each of the Sections with a Subtitle.

-- Be sure to have a Cover Page, that includes your name and a photo of the person if possible.

-- Include a Table of Contents Page with Subtitles Listed.

-- All sections should be written in paragraph form. Include the information listed in each respective

section described in each Report Rubric/Framework.

--Follow the Grammar Rules and Conventions of the English Language.

i.e. Punctuation, Capitalization, Sentence Structure, Paragraph Structure, Syntax, etc.

--Optional: You may type your report if you choose. Otherwise paper and pencil is fine.

-Attach each Respective Rubric/Framework page to the back of your written or typed reports.
