Vince Reyes HR Director Smart Communications 8325 Roxas Blvd. Pasay City, Philippines, 1201

Dear Mr. Reyes: Technology has really been accelerating at a very fast pace. PCs and Microsoft ruled during the PC revolution of the 80s. During the last decade, a new set of technology players have evolved and are changing the way we perceive and use technology. The disruptive technology shift resulted in strong following for social media and networking, the Youtube era, mobile devices and tablets as alternative to PCs, and many more. Today, we hear the emergence of cloud computing and web 2.0 technologies and is continuously allowing the business enterprise to be innovative and responsive to the demands of the new consumer. The irony of education in our society is that students are trained in technology that will be obsolete by the time they enter the workforce. Continuous education and training, therefore, becomes important for enterprises to avail of these technologies to work for the business. There should be no letup in updating skills especially with the new digital and online tools used in sharing and collaboration. In line with this, I would like to offer you our training program which intends to make your workforce more productive and attuned to the new technologies in the market. See the list of topics included in the training. For more information with regards to the training proposal, please contact us at the following: e-portfolio: www.profavila.com facebook : find profavila group twitter : @profavila Cellphone : 63 906-5577-933 Thank You. SESSION TOPIC DESCRIPTION

Google Chrome OS

Google Chrome OS is an open source operating system, based in linux, designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications and will be made available by second half of 2010. The user interface resembles that of the chrome web browser. Google Chrome OS is aimed at users who spend most of their computer time on the internet. (www.wikipedia.com)

using prezi

www.prezi.com

Prezi is a flash-based visualization, storytelling, and presentation tool that allows you to create nonlinear presentations. Using the simple editor, you can place text, images, video, flash files, and draw lines to show relationships between each item. The final result is a visual map that lets users zoom in and out and navigate to content in a clickable environment.

http://www.layersmagazine.com/prezi.html

Using Google Docs

Google Docs is Google’s “software as a service” version of an office suite. Documents, spreadsheets, forms and presentations can be created within the application itself, imported through the web interface, or sent via email. They can also be saved to the user’s computer in a variety of formats. Documents can be shared, opened, and edited by multiple users at the same time. There is a limit on how much a user can store on their account. Individual documents may not exceed 250 mb as of jan 13 2010, embedded images must not exceed 2mb each, and spreadsheets are limited to 256 columns, 200,000 cells, and 99 sheets. (www.wikipedia.com)

2

Social Networking

Service

A social network service focuses on building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people, e.g., who share interests and/or activities. A social network service essentially consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his/her social links, and a variety of additional services. Most social network services are web based and provides means for users to interact over the internet, such as e-mail and instant messaging. Aside from meeting a lost classmate or linking up with new friends, another “popular use for this new technology is social networking between businesses. Companies have found that social networking sites such as facebook and twitter are great ways to build their brand image.”
