Exercise 1: Review Business Blueprint and start

background job for semi-dynamic TBOMs

Objectives

This exercise is about reviewing an existing business blue print in your individual project as a preparation step to BPCA

  You will change the business process priority of a business process step

  You will review the test cases assigned to business process hierarchy

  You will start a background job to create missing semi-dynamic TBOMs

Tasks

1) Go to TestManagement workcenter in SolutionManager using the thelink available in thefavorites.

1) Go to Test Preparationview. Select the"projects" sub-view.

2) Enable filter on theprojects table

3) Select the project"ITM264_XX"(XXrepresents your desknumber)

4) Click on the "BusinessBlueprint" button. Youwill be taken to theBusiness Blueprintscreen for your project

5) Navigate to the"Logistics" businessscenario in the businessprocess hierarchy.

6) Review the blueprintstructure

7) There are 3 scenariosand multiple processesand process steps

8) Select the menu “Goto”and select“Configuration” 

9) You will now see theconfiguration screen ofyour business blueprint.

10) Go to configurationmenu

clicking the save icon

15) Navigate to Order toCash -> Create SalesOrder.

16) Select the “Test Cases”tab

17) You will see that thereare two test casesassigned.

18) One manual test caseand one automated testcase

19) This assignment is usedin test scopeoptimization of BPCA

20) Go to the testmanagement workcenter by clicking on thelink SAP Easy Accessmenu.

21) Navigate to“Administration”

22) Click on “Goto TBOMUtilities”. 

23) The TBOM utilitiestransaction is opened inthe SAPGUI window.

24) Click on “Generation ofStatic and Semi-Dynamic TBOMs”.

25) If your projectITM264_XX (XX is yourdesk number) is notpre-filled you shouldenter your projectname.

26) Ensure that thecheckbox “Create Semi-Dynamic TBOMs” isselected.

27) In the UPL section,select system role asProduction system(value “P”). 

28) Ensure that the daterange is “201306” to“201308”. 

29) Click on “Schedule a job”.

Exercise 2: Change Impact Analysis of a SAP support

package

Objectives

 After completing this exercise, you will be able to

  Run an analysis for a ECC Support Package using Dynamic TBOMs

  Use test scope optimization approaches to reduce the overall test scope

Tasks

The following steps describe the procedure to perform a change impact analysis for evaluating a SAP SupportPackage. For this exercise we will use a SAP support package 01 for SAP_APPL in ECC 6.0 EHP 6 which isbundled under SAP delivery transport request # SAPKH60601.

7) Enter the project ID as“ITM264_D”

8) Enter an analysisdescription as“ITM264_XX Analysis ofSupport packages-dynamic” (XX would beyour desk number)

9) Click the “Run” button. 

10) Refresh the table tomake sure the analysisis in finished status

11) If on clicking Refreshyou get a pop up sayingdata will be lost, clickok.

12) Review the results tableto see all impactedprocesses

13) Observe the column“Num- All” which showsthe number of objects inthe support packagewhich are impactingeach process step

14) Click on the “Optimizetest scope” button

15) The Test ScopeDetermination UI isshown.

16) Click on “Save as”17) Enter Technical Name:

XX_approach(XX isyour desk number)18) Enter Short Description

as “Approach for userXX”

19) Click “Save” button 

20) Make sure that theTime unit is set to“Hours” 

21) Drag the Test Coverageslide bar to reach 100%if it’s not 100%. 

22) Click “Open” button tosee available test scope

optimizationapproaches.

23) If you don’t see 100% inthe Test Coverage – ensure that the checkbox “Includetransactions without testcases” under “Test PlanGeneration Options” isselected.

42) In the following screenselect the highest nodein your Test PlanStructure and click onthe “Expand All” button

. Now you see therecommendation ofTest Cases should bepart of your Test Planbased on the changeimpact analysis. Clickon the Generate TestPlan button

tocreate a test plan.

43) Confirm the pop-upabout the ObjectDirectory Entry while

selecting the “LocalObject” button and alsoconfirm the followingsuccess message pop-up.

44) You have successfullycreated a risk basedtest plan based onchange impact analysisdone using BusinessProcess Change Analyzer.

3) Ensure that the job is in“Finished” status 

4) You can click on “Job

Log” tolook at the job resultdetails

5) Once the job for semi-dynamic TBOMs isfinished Go toTransaction: SOLAR01

6) Open your projectITM264_XX if it is notopen already

7) Navigate to “CreateSales Order”. 

8) Select Transactions tab.9) Select transaction

“VA01”. 10) Click on Attributes

button.

11) Select the TBOM tab inthe AttributesMaintenance window.

Exercise 4: Change Impact Analysis of a SAP support

package using Semi Dynamic TBOMs

Objectives After completing this exercise, you will be able to

  Run an analysis for a ECC Support Package based on semi dynamic TBOMs

  Use test scope optimization approaches to reduce the overall test scope

21) Observe that the graphsshow “missing tests” 

22) Enter different valuesfor the “Test Coverage”in the table below thegraphs and see thechanged effortnumbers.

23) Click on Test ScopeOptimization RankingTab

24) Observe the greenshaded area showingthe processes includedin the scope for 100%test coverage

25) Hover over the blue linegraph to see the testcoverage at eachprocess step
