EXERCISE 1
CONFIGURE DASHBOARD: BPO DASHBOARD PANEL
Estimated time: 15 minutes
Objective
In the following exercise you will learn how to configure a dashboard panel or application displaying key figures relatedto Business Process Operations. This complements the dashboard applications displaying key figures related toBusiness Process Operations.
Exercise Description
The following description serves as a short overview to what objectives will be executed during the exercise.
Start the Transaction SOLMAN_WORKCENTER and navigate to work center Business Process Operations
Select the tool “Manage BPO Dashboards ” from the list of “Common Tasks ”
Create a new Analytical Key Figure Instance
Create a new Panel
Use the Panel in Management Dashboard, application Business Process Operations

EXERCISE 2 – SOLUTION

Then open a “BlankModel”.
2) Open the componentstray (left side of thescreen) and navigate to
category -> charts.Select “Column Chart”and drop it on the workingcanvas.

3) Resize the chart so, that itfeeds in your workingarea.
4) Give your chart a title andsub title.
To do so, select the“General” tab from theproperties section on theright side of the screenand type the followinginformation:

You can see the changesdirect on your diagram.

5) Provide some test data inyour Excel sheet.
To do so, start in cell B2and write a date e.g.01.01.2013. Continue withwriting dates into the cellsof this row until you have10 values (01.01.2013 to10.01.2013.
Now go to cell B3 andwrite random values (theyare just for testing) undereach cell with a date.
6) Assign your values to theaxis of the diagram.
To do so, select the “BySeries” radio button fromthe Data section of theGeneral properties.
Then click the icon inorder to define a new dataseries.

To do so, choose “Data”from the menu and clickon “Connections…”
The Data Manager opensa new window.
10) You create a newconnection by clicking on“Add” and selecting“External InterfaceConnection”.

Close the data manager.
12) Save your files.
Select “File” from themenu and choose “Saveas …”
Then open the folder“Student (Local)”.

Create a new folder andname it “Groupxx”(replace xx by your groupnumber)
Open the folder “Groupxx”and provide the file name“groupxx.xlf” (replace xxby your group number)
Now click on “Save”.
14) Create the flash file ofyour application.
Open “File” from menuand choose “Export” ->“Flash (SWF)…”
Navigate to share“Student (Local)” ->session folder “ITM263”Folder “Groupxx” andname the file“groupxxflash.swf”
Replace xx by your groupname.
Then click “Save”.
Now you can close theDashboard Design tool.

In the following exercise you will learn how to use the registration tool in order to assign your own created application tothe standard dashboard framework.

The following description serves as a short overview to what objectives will be executed during the exercise.
Start the Dashboard App Registration Tool
Provide the new created UI files (xlf, swf)
Use a BW query as data supplier
Add the new application to your dashboard

Open the “Student (Share)”on your desktop.
Open the folder “ITM263”.
Copy the file “Icon.jpg”
2) Now open “Student(Local)”.
Open the folder “ITM263”.
Open folder “Groupxx”(replace xx by your groupname).
Copy the file “Icon.jpg” intothis folder.
You should now have 3files in your local groupfolder:
