FCoE Switch Brand Leader Survey Methodology

• Brand Leader Reports are designed to measure the pulse of brand leadership in specific product categories using surveys with at least 100 respondents.

• The FCoE Switch Brand Leader Survey was conducted in November, 2012 and published in December, 2012. – Respondents were solicited from over 1,000,000 members of 100+ online IT groups, and from

the IT Brand Pulse end-user database. – One hundred forty-three IT Pros completed this survey. – Responses were collected using an online survey engine.

• In each part respondents were provided with a list of vendors and asked six questions:

1. Who do you perceive as the FCoE Switch market leader?

2. Who do you perceive as the FCoE Switch price leader?

3. Who do you perceive as the FCoE Switch performance leader?

4. Who do you perceive as the FCoE Switch reliability leader?

5. Who do you perceive as the FCoE Switch service & support leader?

6. Who do you perceive as the FCoE Switch innovation leader?

Summary Analysis

• Cisco selected as FCoE Switch Market Leader for the fourth year in a row

– Having led previous industry convergence initiatives such as Voice over IP (VoIP), no company understands better than Cisco what is needed to help partners and customers through the migration process. The company has been at the forefront of education since DCE and FCoE standards were in development, and the company has developed a broad product portfolio needed to efficiently address the specific needs of a variety of application environments. The result is that among the many vendors involved in developing the markets for 10GbE and converged networking, IT professionals recognize that contributions from Cisco stand out from the pack.

• Cisco edges Brocade for first place in the Price Leader category

– During the last few years year, Cisco has re-focused on data center networking including converged networking with FCoE switches, marketing programs promoting convergence, and more aggressive pricing in the field. IT pros have taken notice, and selected Cisco as the FCoE Switch Price Leader.

• Cisco chosen as FCoE Switch Performance Leader

– IT Pros voted for Cisco as the FCoE Switch Performance Leader yet again. The company continues to benefit from the 2011 introduction of the Cisco Nexus 7000 F2-Series Module which allows an 18-slot chassis to scale-up to 768 ports at wire-rate performance.

• Cisco perceived as FCoE Switch Reliability Leader and Service & Support Leader

– Cisco achieved the greatest vote of confidence from IT pros for Service & Support with over 60% selecting Cisco as the leader.

• Cisco is FCoE Switch Innovation Leader

– In 2012, the Cisco reputation for FCoE innovation continues to benefit from multi-hop FCoE which was introduced with the Cisco Nexus 7000 F2-Series Module in 2011.
