ThankFebruary 2nd – 8th You
International Networking Week is our annual celebration of the power of networking. It allows
us to take a moment to show our appreciation and gratitude to those who have helped us
grow our business by giving us referrals. Recognizing people with a simple thank you is one
of the most effective ways to strengthen your relationships with people. Recognition is
proven to have one of the largest effects on trust. Especially when it’s tangible, unexpected,
personal, and public.
During International Networking Week we are asking all 270,000 BNI Members around the
globe to help generate a million thank you’s by simply thanking 5 people who have given
them referrals. BNI Founder and Chief Visionary Officer, Dr. Ivan Misner is kicking off
International Networking Week with the first “ Thank You”. Then BNI CEO, Graham
Weihmiller will travel around the world in 5 days thanking BNI Leaders and Members for
passing referrals across the globe.
With the opportunity to open up a world of referrals to those who
are deserving, we ask that you join us for this special week full of
incredible activities and events.

Theme BNI’s Week of a Million Thank You’s
Goal A week of celebrations thanking Members who have helped other Members grow their business by sharing referrals. Members are encouraged to recognize other Members in chapter meetings and on social media platforms. BNI will launch a Global PR campaign to promote the power of networking.
Purpose Recognizing a person in your network is a great way to build better and stronger relationships.

Dr. Ivan Misner will kick off International Networking Week in a video message delivered to all members and directors:
“Expressing gratitude completes the feeling of connection. Many people in your life have helped you in one way or another. Have you thanked them? Consider sending a letter to someone telling them what their actions meant to you, even if—especially if—it happened long ago. It costs little or nothing and it almost always follows suit that they will demonstrate their gratitude for what you do.When you show an interest in others by noticing the good things they’ve done; they will be drawn to you like a magnet. It will accelerate the relationship building process and enhance their overall impression of you.”

Use chapter meetings to thank fellow Members for business referrals received throughout the year. During the week of February 2nd 9,400-chapter agendas need to be modified to focus on thank you’s
Purpose – Educate Members on the benefits of recognizing people in their network with thank you’s to improve relationships
Ways to Participate – Chapter meeting thank yous, give a thank you certificate (template provided), or sponsor networking events and bring people to thank
Promotional Tools – social media shares (you can use#BNIThankyou and #INW2020), in market events, photo

Encourage each Member to thank 5 people for referrals and help BNI get to 1 Million Thank You’s Globally
Purpose – International Networking Week is time of year when members come together to thank everyone who has helped them in growing their business.
