CleanersCleaning is just one step in a two step program to create a safe and clean environment for livestock to rid areas of high soil loads, hard water and areas having porous surfaces. In addition to cleaning, dry cleaning helps remove any gross organic material, allowing the detergent to reach the toughest areas. Proper dry cleaning and utilizing one of the following detergents prior to disinfection will provide the disinfectant a clean surface to eliminate disease causing pathogens from your operation.

Barnstorm™

Barnstorm is a heavy duty concentrated cleaner and descaler, high-foaming detergent designed to remove both organic and inorganic soils from surfaces prior to disinfection.

BioSentry® Universal Barn CleanerBiosentry Universal Barn Cleaner is a biodegradable, effective general-purpose cleaner for use in swine units including: nurseries, farrowing crates, breeding and gestation rooms, loading chutes, animal transport vehicles, footbaths, waterers and feeders, and all areas on the pork production facility.

Biosolve™ PlusBiosolve Plus is an alkaline, foaming cleaner and degreaser that rapidly removes protein, fat and other organic soils from surfaces. It can be used through a variety of foam generating equipment as well as in pressure washers. Superior degreasing properties breaks through grease, fat and organic matter formulated with biodegradable detergents, nonylphenol ethoxylate and phosphate free.

Swine-O-DyneSwine-O-Dyne is an iodine-based sow shampoo developed especially for use prior to farrowing. With the proven germicidal ability of iodine, Swine-O-Dyne helps to break the cycle of cross-contamination between sows and newborn piglets, limiting their exposure to harmful pathogens. No rinse required. However, if company protocol indicates rinse is required, wait 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

BioSentry® Sow WashWashing sows prior to farrowing reduces the pathogen load, leading to preventing the transmission of disease causing pathogens in the early hours of a piglet’s life. Biosentry Sow Wash removes organic loads from the sow prior to farrowing a litter of piglets; providing a clean and safe environment for nursing piglets.

By definition, biosecurity means; “securing life.” For the pork producer, it can be defined as a comprehensive program designed to create a protective barrier around the production facility that will physically block the introduction of disease. Monopropylene glycol (MPG) can be used to prevent Virkon S from freezing during the cold, winter months. Virkon S at a 1:100 use dilution with 10% MPG is effective against major swine pathogens such as PEDv, PRRSv, and M. hyo. When mixing with MPG, first mix the VIRKON S in water at your desired dilution rate, then add MPG to the solution. For mixing directions, please refer to the table below.

Synergize™

Synergize is a multi-purpose disinfectant-cleaner formulated for use in swine operations. It is also formulated for use on the following equipment in these facilities: waters, feeders, hauling vehicles and equipment, farrowing barns, nurseries, blocks, creep areas, and chutes.

For small scale disinfecting (tires, undercarriages, loading chutes, loading docks, small equipment, etc.), filling a pump-up or backpack sprayer (2 - 5 gallon capacity) with propylene glycol (PG) and adding recommended levels of Synergize Disinfectant is the surest way to prevent freezing.

To address large scale mixing issues, we recommend the use of a holdingor reservoir tank. Using an empty 55 gallon drum as our tank, follow theserecommended procedures:

1. Fill empty drum with fifty (50) gallons of water2. Add 50 oz of Synergize Disinfectant3. Add prescribed amount of propylene glycol (2.5 – 10%)

depending on level of freeze protection desired4. Mix thoroughly

Pump solution directly from drum onto trailer (an electric pump works well for this application).

CyKill™

Bromethalin was developed to combat a worldwide perceived problem of rodent resistance to warfarin-like anticoagulant rodenticides. Bromethalin is not an anticoagulant but a highly potent neurotoxin rodenticide that provides a lethal dose to rodents in a single feeding. Bromethalin attacks the central nervous system; rodents usually consume a lethal dose within a single night’s feeding, with first dead rodents appearing within 2 days. Havoc®

Brodicfacoum is the strongest anticoagulant rodenticide available.* Havoc products combine brodifacoum with a special mixture of highly attractive bait ingredients along with patented food processing techniques. The result is a superior, single-feed rodenticide with a unique bait delivery system.

Di-Kill®

Difenacoum is the latest in rodent control. This hard-hitting second generation anticoagulant can knock down rodents in 4-5 days. Difenacoum has outstanding control of mice.
