The Friends of Fallen Timbers invites all 3rd - 8th grade students in the Fallen Timbers schools consortium to participate in the third annual

All-School 5k Team Challenge!

• Each team must consist of 5 students in

either 3rd-5th or 6th-8th grade. • Students register for only $10 each. • Full teams registered by the deadline

receive FREE Fun Run Team Challenge t-shirts* & drawstring backpacks for each student.

• The winning team in both grade groups will receive a traveling award for display at their school the entire year.

• ONE FREE adult registration with each team.

About This 5k Fun Run The Friends of Fallen Timbers is hosting this non-com-petitive fun run for individuals and families of all ages. The event is dedicated to the memory of one of the school district’s outstanding teachers, Joel Cartier.

All participants will receive : • Healthy snacks before the run • Fun Run for the Timbers drawstring backpack • Hearty chili lunch after the run • Ice cream dessert drizzled with delicious Fallen Tim-

bers made-on-site maple syrup

Route Information • 5k walk/run along the beautiful trails of Fallen Timbers

Environmental Center • Non-competitive • Times posted at the race and on our Facebook page

Getting There Fallen Timbers is located in Outagamie County, 4 miles west of Seymour, south of Highway 54, off County PP, on Robin Road. Address: W4531 Robin Rd, Black Creek, WI.

About Fallen Timbers Fallen Timbers Environmental Center is comprised of 456 acres of northern deciduous forest, lowland mead-ows, a 2 acre pond, and over 8 miles of trails. Over 20,000 students are involved in curriculum-oriented hands-on studies, both onsite and offsite, annually. It is owned by six school districts in Northeastern Wisconsin.

WAIVER OF NEGLIGENCE

Run Disclaimer: I know that the Fallen Timbers “Run for the Timbers” is a potentially hazardous event. The “Run for the Timbers” includes activities which include risks such as (but not limited to), falls, collisions with other participants, effects of weather, equipment failure, inadequate safety equipment, poor signage and/or planning of the route, and dangerous traffic and road conditions.

I agree, for myself and my heirs, to waive any claims arising out of the negligent acts of the organizers of this event. I hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless Fallen Tim-bers Environmental Center, its affiliates, directors, vol-unteers, and employees, all sponsoring businesses and organizations and their agents and employees and the Consortium of Schools for Environmental Education from any and all negligence arising out of my participation in the Run for the Timbers event.

The purpose of this release and waiver is to give up my right to sue Fallen Timbers Environmental Center and all event organizers for negligent acts.

This release and indemnification agreement shall be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the State in which the event is conducted. If any portion of it is held invalid, the balance shall continue in full force and effect.

I understand that the sole purpose for signing this docu-ment is to waive my right to sue Fallen Timbers Environ-mental Center for negligent acts. I have read the terms of this agreement. I understand that I am waiving my legal rights. I agree to waive my legal rights.

I understand that the Fallen Timbers “Run for the Timbers” is a potentially hazardous event, and attend it out of my own free will and choice. It is my responsibility to dress appropriately for the event. I understand that thefts of equipment or personal belongings may occur if I do not safeguard my personal items.

Although route maps, rest stops, re-freshments and other assistance may be available during this event, I am solely responsible for my participa-tion in this event, and I agree to stop and request assistance if I experience any symptoms such as, but not limited to, dizziness, excessive fatigue, short-ness of breath, pain, or any other con-dition which would make it difficult or unsafe for me to continue.

I hereby waive my rights of privacy or publicity and grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photo-graphs, motion pictures, videotapes, recordings or other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
