Day 1: We depart from “local” airport for an overnight flight to Rome, Italy. Day 2: Upon arrival in Rome, we’ll have a sight-seeing tour of the “Eternal City,which will include the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum, all giving us a general overview of the city that will be our home for the next few days. Following hotel check in there will be leasure time before we gather for dinner. Evening at leasure. Overnight Rome Day 3: Today we visit Vatican City and attend the Papal Audience (subject to the Pope’s schedule). Following lunch, we’ll have a guided tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Evening at leasure following dinner. Overnight Rome Day 4: Today we journy to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the Church of St. Peter in Chains and the Basilica of St. John Lateran. Afternoon at leasure to enjoy the many sights that Rome has to offer. Dinner. Overnight Rome Day 5: Departure from Rome for Monte Cassino to the monastery founded by Saint Benedict, founded in 529. Next, we’ll continue to San Giovanni Rotondo, and the shrine of St. Padre Pio. Overnight San Giovanni Rotondo Day 6: Wevisit today will be the church of Santa Maria della Grazie, home of the tomb of Saint Padre Pio, the Capuchin priest who bore Our Lord’s Stigmata for the majority of his life. Following, we will ascend Monte Sant’ Angelo for the shrine of St. Michael. Dinner. Overnight San Giovanni Rotondo Day 7: This morning, we departure for Mass in Lanciano, site of the Eucharistic Miracle of the eighth century, continue to Loreto for a visit and prayers at the Holy House of Loreto. Our day is compleet as we enter Assisi, boyhood home and foundation of the Order of St. Francis. Dinner. Overnight Assisi Day 8: Today, we will visit the Basilica of St. Francis for morning Mass. Follwing Mass, we go up to St. Clare’s Church which houses the toumb of St. Clare. After lunch, we head to lower Assisi to visit the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, which houses the Porziuncula. Dinner. Overnight Assisi Day 9: Today we’re off to the Medieval city of Siena, home of St. Catherine. We’ll visit her Cathedral and the Eucharistic Miracle of Siena, consecrated hosts that have not corrupted in over 200 years. We continue on to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance.” We’ll enjoy a guided tour of this quaint city which will include a visit to the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio on the Arno River as well as many other sights. We gather for our farwell dinner. Overnight Assisi Day 10: With a renewed sense of pilgrimage, and an invigorated love of our Catholic faith, we’ll board our plane for the return flight home.
