In this issue:

Goose Creek’s Acceptable Use Policy

Access to the district technology

resources shall be made availa-

ble to employees primarily for

instructional and administrative

purposes in accordance with

board policy and district admin-

istrative regulations. Technology

resources include, but are not

limited to, email, internet, soft-

ware, hardware, databases, etc.

Limited personal use of the system

shall be permitted if use:

Imposes no tangible cost on the

district.

Doesn’t unduly burden the dis-

trict’s computer/network re-

sources.

Has no adverse effect on an

employee’s job performance or

on a student’s academic perfor-

mance.

Has no commercial purpose.

The district monitors access to, and

use of, email, instant messaging, the

internet, and other network or comput-

er related activity in order to carry out

We all click OK, but what is it?

Who does it affect? What can I

do to make sure I’m following

it?

maintenance, internal investigations,

or disclose information to law en-

forcement.

Take the AUP training on Moodle at:

http://moodle.gccisd.net/login/

index.php Under Staff Development

-> Tier 1 Training.

If you have any questions concerning

the Acceptable use policy, please call

or email the help desk at (281) 420—

4633 or [email protected].

Tech Schedule Have you ever wondered when the

computer technician assigned to your

campus is scheduled to visit?

TMS provides an on-site schedule for all

computer technicians. If you work at a service

center or a school, you have a tech from TMS

assigned to your campus. Check http://

schools.gccisd.net/docs/39-tech%

20schedule%2011-10.pdf to find out when

your tech is scheduled to visit you.

If you require immediate assistance, please

contact the help desk.

Atomic Learning

Did you Know? Email at Home

You can access your GCCISD email

from home by visiting www.gccisd.net,

clicking on the Email link located under

the Quicklinks section, and then by

clicking Check your GCCISD email.

Your username and password are the

same as your computer logon.

Be sure to log off when you are fin-

ished with your session to ensure your

account is not used by someone else.

Did you know? Screenshots

If you press the Print Screen (Prt Sc

on a laptop) button, Windows will take

a picture of your entire screen.

Pressing Alt + Print Screen will take a

picture of the current window.

Your screenshot can then be pasted

just like a picture. This is an excellent

troubleshooting tool since a picture is

worth a thousand words.

Did you know? Password Changes

As a teacher or administrator, you can

change your password by logging on

to a computer, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del,

and then clicking on Change Pass-

word. You will be prompted to enter

your old password and to enter your

new password twice. Try

to use 3 of the 4: Upper-

case letters, lowercase

letters, numbers, and special symbols.

If you are unable to log on to a com-

puter because you have forgotten your

password, you can have your pass-

word reset by the help desk. Call (281)

420—4633 for assistance.

Atomic Learning is a training

resource available 24/7 to eve-

ryone in the district with a

GCCISD e-mail address.

It has trainings for hundreds of the

most popular software titles

including: Microsoft Office

Suite, Windows , eInstruction,

Mimio, ActivInspire and many,

many more. Atomic Learning is

accessible from any computer

with internet connectivity. The

trainings are 2 to 5 minutes in

length and broken down into topics

such as “How to Mail Merge” in Word

and “How to create a Pivot Table” in

Excel. Go to

www.atomiclearning.com and log in

using your GCCISD e-mail address

as your user name and gccisd as

the password

How did we do?

In an effort to provide world-class service, TMS utilizes

eWorkOrders to manage technology work orders. This

allows us to track the completion time and work per-

formed of all work orders and allows you to provide

feedback for the work that is provided. To this end,

please be honest when you provide feedback and be

sure you check out our performance scorecard that is

posted on Goose Creek’s information portal: http://

gccisd.pbworks.com/w/page/31396256/Performance-

Excellence-Dashboard. Here you can find our service

level completion times, customer satisfaction and how

TMS spends their time. As always, TMS welcomes

your opinion, so feel free to email suggestions or

improvements to [email protected] or tell your

CTS or Tech the next time you see them.

TMS is committed to excellence and your satisfaction.
