My highlights of the year will always include Sports Day and this year will be no exception. The weather for Sports

Day was absolutely perfect and the children were very well supported by so many of you. It was lovely to have so

many people either come up to me, or send emails, to say how much they enjoyed it. It certainly made me a very

proud head teacher to see many of the children taking a lead role; whether it was ensuring younger members of

their team made it to the start line or sorting out activities on the football pitch; it certainly made my job much

easier and I thank everyone, including staff for their help.

Also last week, children in Weavers were so excited to share their work this term during class assembly. The

photos looked amazing and some of the dens survived Lee’s water test.

Potter’s were also full of enthusiasm as they challenged their parents to spot the language they were talking in.

The children sang songs and share their story of The Tiger Who Came for Tea. I was amazed at their confidence in

front of so many parents.

Children in Foresters visited Winchester Science Centre, they fully engaged in many activities available to them,

which was lovely to hear.

This will be the last newsletter this term.

Finally, I would like to share our School rules, that the children have been working on and promoting fantastically

well. Please do ask them.

BE KIND BE SAFE BE RESPONSIBLE

Wednesday Waddle will start again after the half term holiday.

Have a super half term.

Trip to Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium - Foresters class

On Tuesday 10th October, Foresters class travelled to Winchester Science centre and planetarium

for an exciting day out! To fit in with their ‘Out of this world’ topic, Foresters explored many

space-themed exhibits (as well as other science displays) and also experienced a 360 degree

planetarium show based on the planet Earth and its neighbouring planets. It was spectacular to

see the planets up close and in so much detail! Miss Digby and Mrs A were so impressed with the

children’s behaviour and kindness towards the other schools there. It certainly was ‘out of this

world!’

Dear Parent/Carer

As part of

Wiltshire Police are supporting the national road safety week campaign this year on 20-26 November.

The slogan for the campaign is Speed Down Saves Lives.

In the lead up to our campaign we are inviting students from all of Wiltshire’s Primary Schools to take

part in designing a poster to promote road safety in and around their community. Police and Crime

Commissioner Angus MacPherson will be judging the entries with the winning design being turned into

the logo for this year’s campaign.

The winning entry will receive a visit from their local Policing team for their school.

The poster design can be anything in relation to road safety. All we ask is that your child includes the

slogan; Speed Down Saves Lives and that you use an A4 piece of paper.

Please write your child’s name, year group and school on the back and ensure it is returned to school by

Friday 13 October.

We look forward to receiving your creative masterpieces which will help in raising the awareness of road

safety across Wiltshire.

Yours Sincerely

Wiltshire Police
