CAPTAINS REPORT
Busso Mid-Week Ride report 2 Mar 2016
16 Members turned out for the ride and
one visitor, 6 members where from Bun-
bury.
John H lead us off on an ideal day for a bike
ride along Bussell Hwy, Tuart Dr, Ludlow
North Rd, Stirling Rd to Capel then along
Gavins Gully Rd, Boundary Rd, Lowrie Rd,
South Western Hwy to Boyanup for a short
stop.
Tom on his Z900 was a bit low on fuel so
decided to go to Donnybrook for fuel," he
didn't make it" (no fuel at Boyanup) and had
to be helped out by a nearby farmer.
We then headed out Boyanup Picton Rd,
(without Tom) then I think we turned into
Dillon Rd and somehow got to Ferguson Rd
(I'm not sure that John quite knew where he
was going) then into Wellington Mill Rd to
Gnomesville which was the intended destina-
tion (Well done John) for a short stop.
Then headed along Lowden Rd, Donnybrook
Boyup Brook Rd to Donnybrook for morn-
ing tea/lunch. From here the Bunbury boys
headed straight up the highway for home the
rest of us returned to Busselton via Good-
wood Rd Sterling Rd Ludlow North Rd Tu-
art Dr and Layman Rd. A good ride with no
mishaps to report.

Midweek PM 9-3-2016 23 Riders 1 Passen-
ger
Felt like the Pied Piper today, 16 bikes de-
parted Dolphin Centre, 2 riders joined in
Australind, 3 riders joined in Leschenault and
a further 2 on Buffalo Rd. Everyone had been
advised that the ride to Myalup would be the
short section of ride, we arrived at the Crook-
ed Carrot Cafe about 2.10pm where tables
had been arranged so most people could sit
together.
After great coffee and food we did a bit of a
meander around back of Harvey, Alverstoke
and even managed to ride Alma Rd (Cow
Poo Rd) without any cattle hindering us. It
was very pleasant ride weather wise for
change and I didn’t lose anyone. The TWO
DAY RALLY was another successful rally
for 2016 and I am sure everyone enjoyed
themselves. Congratulations to Bert Sykes,
who was the overall winner this year.
Busso Mid Week Ride Report 16 Mar 2016
21 riders turned out for the days ride, 8
where from Bunbury and 2 passengers.
Darryl led the ride off down the Bypass to
Vasse turning right at the roundabout and
then down Caves Rd to Dunsborough, then
along Cape Naturaliste Rd to Eagle Bay and
the Light House.
From there they did a roundabout trip to the
Dome at Dunsborough for coffee and a chat.
After coffee they meandered their way back
to Busselton down Caves Rd, Wildwood Rd,
Bussell Hwy stopping at the truck bay on the
Bypass and splitting up from there. I was told
it was a relatively short but good ride that I
missed out on.

Midweek AM 23-3-2016 5 actual riders.
After all the planning to arrange a combined
morning tea with Busso and the ladies cook-
ing up a storm, the weather decided to put a
real dampener on the event. With pouring
rain in Bunbury and supposedly not in
Busselton John P. set off to the Dolphin Cen-
tre and found a wet and bedraggled Neville
G. after which a very wet Glen arrived (no
wet weather gear).
After a bit of discussion it was decided Ne-
ville & John would go to our place and swap
into the car while Glen would be picked on
the way which they duly did to find he had a
complete change of clothing on because he
was rather wet. Margaret G. & I arrived at
the hall very dry where Jenny, Elaine &
Christine were setting up plenty of morning
tea. It was not long before 5 damp Busso rid-
ers arrived as did David L. with his harem,
Kay & Nola, in a car. Eventually Bunbury
Boys arrived for morning tea to a bit of com-
mentary from others and started up the party
again. Thanks to Busso ladies for providing
morning tea.
After everything back in place, hall locked up
set off for home along Acton Park Rd where
Jenny & I had to stop our cars to do a bit of
cow herding. John P. reports that on their re-
turn journey Glen thought it might be good
idea for the club to buy a pensioners bus so
the Captain could go around and do a pick up
on rainy days.
Glen Britza Run 3-4-2016 32 Riders 5 Pas-
sengers
Great weather for a ride, Glen arranged a me-
ander thru Dardanup West, Dardanup, Fergu-
son Valley, and Burekup to Brunswick for
morning tea where participants didn’t eat too
much because of the promise of lunch at Ne-
ville & Margaret's. After break, group headed
north of the town before turning left to ride
thru Wellesley to Forrest Hwy, continuing on
Hwy to Buffalo Rd, thru Leschenault to Set-
tlers where Neville, Margaret, Sharon and
Ben had everything organised.
With the weather warming up and the foot-
ball starting at 1pm everyone had departed by
12.30pm (don’t know why they bothered).
Thanks to the Green family once again for
hosting the club.

LICENSING LIAISON OFFICERS RE-
PORT
One small but significant requirement of our
club is that all bikes over 25years of age are
required to have an annual inspection before
they can be ridden in any event. This is a
mandatory requirement and is enshrined in
our constitution to maintain standards. With
this in mind and recent developments /delays
from the DOT our Committee has decided to
continue with annual examinations for a cou-
ple of reasons –With nearly 400 bikes on our
register we feel we have a responsibility to
maintain our recording, safety and original
standards.
Examination day is the one day of the year
where we aim to get 100% of our members
“turn up”- this provides us with a very socia-
ble day, but also gives us some control to en-
sure that members recognise we are not just a
means of getting cheap licensing.

mittee. All positions are declared vacant at

TREASURER’S REPORT– UNAUDITED
A Full Report will be made available and
published once Syd Taylor the Club Auditor
has reviewed the financial books of Indian
Harley Club (Bunbury) Inc.
For the Financial year 2014/2015, our open-
ing cheque book balance started at $3,505.44.
The closing cheque book balance was
$7892.51Our Term Deposit was increased by
$10,000.
Glenda said that she did not think most of the
members where aware that on the weekend
of the 41st 2 day Rally we were visited by Of-
ficers from the Liquor Licencing Department
who checked to see that all our paperwork
and liquor regulations were being adhered
too.
To the credit of the Club and those managing
the Bar, everything was in order on the day,
thus avoiding closure and fines in the vicinity
of $10,000.00. This would not have been the
case if drinks were served earlier than the al-
located time on the Permit.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Bob thanked the Membership and Committee
for all their hard work during the year with-
out whose help the Club would not function
as well as it does. He thanked the members
who continually went above and beyond
what was expected of them.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
We have had another successful year with
lots of hard work being put in by our com-
mittee and members from Bunbury, Bussel-
ton, Mandurah, Manjimup, and the pre 48
Section.
I try to send personal letters to all our won-
derful members who cater, map the routes
and do Back-Up for all our runs, but if during
the year I have forgotten someone I apolo-
gise, please accept this as your personal
thank you, we could not manage without the
help of you very special people.
Those wives and girlfriends of members who
never cease to amaze with their beautiful
cooking and catering skills, I thank you again
for the wonderful job that you do.
I thank the hard working Committee Mem-
bers who always go above and beyond the
call of duty, either because they love doing it
or feel that they have taken on a job and need
to give it 100%. These people do not get per-
sonal thank you letters, so as Secretary I
would like to thank you all on behalf of the
IHC for your continued support. Without you
all we would not have a Club that puts on
such great events and Rides during the year.
To the new and younger members of the Club
I would like to encourage you to take up one
of the Committee positions or at least volun-
teer to help during 2015/2016 at some of our
functions or rides.
Some of the older members of the Club have
been putting up their hands and stepping up
to the mark since the inception of the Club in
1971. They would now like to impart some
of their knowledge and take a step back, so
that some new blood and ideas can be inject-
ed into the Club.
At the AGM all positions on the Committee
are declared vacant so there is opportunity
for all members to nominate for a position.

CAPTAIN’S REPORT
This year has been a very successful year as
far as rides go. The midweek rider numbers
have surged in Bunbury and with the intro-
duction of regular midweek AM rides by
Busso Boys which are also attracting some
riders from Bunbury. There are also more rid-
ers joining the club from around the Bussel-
ton area who enjoy these midweek rides.
The weekend rides are also well patronised
with the combined totals of Bunbury, Mandu-
rah and Pre 48 Group.
All in all the club continues to grow and with
new members comes new ideas and initia-
tives. I would also like to thank all the mem-
bers who have suggested good areas & places
to go for rides.
CAPTAIN LEITHAL
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
Amanda said that the Library had a lot of new
books donated by Howard Whalen and
‘thanked Bob for the addition of LED lights
in the book cupboard making it easier for her
to see.
PUBLICITY OFFICER Nil to report.
LICENSING LIAISON OFFICER-
MACHINE REGISTRAR
Another eventful year come and gone – sadly
again as I pointed out last year a lack of
members willing to put their hand up to assist
in the running of the club. This makes it diffi-
cult for the few hard working members to
shoulder all the workload of what is a very
busy organisation.
Perhaps this year we will see some more of
our newer members “step up to the plate” –
we need strong committed members to keep
the club at a high standard and with 300
members I was surprised and disappointed to
see so few nominations for the committee po-
sitions.
We finished this year with 36 Machines on A
class, 368 on B class and 3 Specials. Ray
Buck and I have had another busy year in
processing 42 new registrations, just 5 short
of last year and a few bikes have left the club
or the members handed their plates in. These
have been replaced by the hard working, in-
spired and dedicated restorers in our club
which has maintained the number of bikes on
our register.
Many of these restorations are pure “works of
art” and there never seems to be a shortage of
raw materials still out there waiting to be
touched by their “magic wands” – These val-
uable contributions to our motorcycling herit-
age are an absolute credit to you. Well done
to you all! Please remember the im-
portance of traceability documentation when
importing bikes from overseas or the Eastern
States.
This bit sounds like a broken record – but -
There ARE changes coming to the Licensing
Category Concession 404 which covers our
bikes that are 25 Years or older. They told us
this would all happen in Sept 2013 and we
are still waiting. These will be detailed in full
when the Department of Transport in con-
junction with the CMCC issues the updated
information booklet. IHC Members will be
kept informed of the effects of these changes
as soon as the laws are passed through parlia-
ment – until then, NO CHANGES can be ini-
tiated and rumours that other clubs have al-
ready changed are seen by the D.O.T. as
”jumping the gun” .
The IHC committee has worked through
them in regard to the Constitutional effects so
we will be ready to act as soon as we are giv-
en the green light.

2015 Examination Day in February this
year was more successful on the day than
last year and as usual was carried out with
professional enthusiasm by our hard working
team of Scrutineers and was well supported
by the ACTIVE members of the club. The
sausage sizzle in Bunbury was well received
and many thanks to Bob & Wilma for their
effort. However there was a significant num-
ber of INACTIVE Members that required a
waste of valuable time and club resources
chasing up errant / lost or missing members
without current Roadworthy Certificates.
In closing I would like to thank the President
and the Committee, a very special thankyou
to Ray Buck for all his hard work, encour-
agement and enthusiasm for the job over
many years. Bucky has indicated this may be
his last year in the job and the Committee
has endorsed an application to D.O.T. from
Murray Rudler to take over the reins. Last
but not least, all the Scrutineers for their sup-
port that makes my job a pleasure.
JEFF SMITH
PROPERTY OFFICER Nil to Report
WEBSITE MANAGER
As was announced at the 2014 AGM our In-
ternet service provider MySouthWest ceased
operations in September 2014. As a result of
this the committee decided to upgrade to a
new system provided by a Canadian compa-
ny called Wild Apricot.
This system provides our website and also
includes membership management, events
management, online payments and some ac-
counting services. Members now have the
ability to log into the website and see mem-
ber only information and they can also ex-
amine and modify their own records – for
example change of address or phone number.
This system is also used to email the news-
letter and generate the mailing labels. The
membership renewal process at the start of
the year and the Two Day Rally registrations
worked well with many members and riders
taking advantage of the online payment fa-
cility.
ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS
The President vacated the chair and Mr Ross
Eaton took over as Returning Officer, and
thanked Bob and the Committee for their
good work, then declared all positions va-
cant and called for a new Committee.
Ross praised the work of the outgoing com-
mittee and said that they all did over and
above what was expected of them. Ross also
said he thought the 2015 2 Day Rally was
the best ever

FIRST AID COURSE
Dear Faye,
To let you know Daryl, Eric, Keith and his
partner from Manjimup and I for the IHC at-
tended the Safety First for Motorcyclists
course at the Highway hotel in Bunbury last
Saturday.
The course had about 16 total, from various
motorcycle groups. The course was very in-
formative and a great deal was leant by all of
us in what action should be executed when ar-
riving at the scene of an accident involving a
motorcycle/s and rider/s.
The course was sharply underway at 11 AM
and finished around 4.15PM included a 30 mi-
nute break for lunch about 1PM. We were
treated to what to do in what order to achieve
the best outcome for the rider and any other
either attending or involved in the accident.
The course started with a general talk about
motorcycle crashes, different scenarios, and so
on. It then moved to what as attendees the roll
of each person should take .there is a recog-
nised procedure and emphasis was placed on
making sure the correct procedure was ad-
hered to. What to check on the scene how to
attend to the victim/s who to contact and the
first aid to be administered awaiting the ap-
propriate trained first aid people IE St John
Ambulance crew.
After the luncheon break we given demonstra-
tions on how and when to place victims in
varying situations for the best of their health.
This took the course of demonstrations by the
trainers and roll playing and being hands on
for the course participants practice of learning
to use the correct methods.
All in all the course was excellent ,well worth
the investment by the IHC in providing the
opportunity to let some of the members be
informed in the correct procedure of handling
an accident involving motorcyclists.
On behalf of those that attended for the IHC, I
would like to thank the club for its generosity
in paying for us to attend and I think in future
if the chance arises maybe next year the Man-
agement committee look at trying to send
more to similar or the same course. If the
committee would like to, I would be pleased
give a general talk on what we learnt, maybe a
general meeting would be best.
