Thursday, December 4th – Cramerton Christmas Festival at Cramerton Town Center from 2 to 6 p.m. - Arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, live music, and kid’s activities. If you or someone you know is interested in being a vendor, please contact Cristy Busler at 704-824-4231. Limited booth rentals available.
Thursday, December 4th – Christmas parade at 4 p.m. – parade will begin on Eighth Avenue starting at the Market Street parking lot and ending at Cramerton’s Town Hall. If your company or organization would like to be in the parade, please contact Cam Carpenter or Cristy Busler at 704-824-4231.
Saturday, December 6th – Breakfast with Santa- 9:00 a.m. at the Community Center - $6/child, $4/parents. Registration open to first 25.

CRAMERTON FOOD BANK Monetary donations can be made to the Cramerton Ministerial Association and mailed to 76 Riverside Drive, Cramerton, NC 28032. Canned goods, dry goods and canned meat may be dropped off at the C.B. Huss Rec Center between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays or from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The Cramerton Fire Dept. has a drop off area. Food donations may also be dropped off at Riverside Baptist Church or First Baptist Church. No perishable foods can be accepted or out of date items. Please contact Reverend Lefler at 704-756-1531 if you know of someone needing assistance.
Population Update The Town’s population is now 4,689. This is an increase of 464 people (10.98%).

UPDATE ON DEVELOPMENT IN CRAMERTON
Village at South Fork – 352 apartments have been constructed along with 8,000 square feet
of retail space; 140 single family units should begin construction in the next year.
Village at Cramerton Mills – Land preparation has begun along Hamrick Road and several
single family homes will be constructed within the next year. The developers will also be
constructing a connector road from Hamrick Road to South New Hope Road. The overall
project consists of over 400 single family homes; 260 multi-family units; 125,000 square feet
of retail, office, and institutional; and 107,500 square feet of light manufacturing.
Timberlake Community – AV Homes is constructing homes within the neighborhood.
Newport Landing – Adams Homes is completing the build out of the community.
Stuart’s Landing – Southside Construction is continuing to construct new premier townhome
units in this community.
PSNC – is completing a new warehouse on Gaston Road.

CONSTRUCTION
Significant work will be occurring during the month of October which will involve pile driving in preparation for the placement of the pedestrian bridge. The park is closed during this phase of construction. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Town Hall at 704-824-4337.
The Public Works Department will begin leaf pick up on November 10th. Leaves should be raked to the curb. Leaves that are bagged will be picked up weekly. Leaves can be placed in any style of garbage bag.

CRAMERTON PARKS AND RECREATION EVENTS 704-824-4231
Director’s Message: October is here, and that brings about our special events for the upcoming holidays. We will kick off the month with our annual Fall Carnival (October 18th), followed by our Turkey shoot (November 15th), and Christmas Parade (December 4th). I hope to see everyone out at the Fall Carnival event on Saturday, October 18th from 4 to 6:30 p.m to play carnival games, participate in the cake walk, and watch the magic show. Fall registration went extremely well with around 220 children ages 3-15 participating in soccer, volleyball, and baseball. We also have about 150 more children utilizing our facility and fields by participating in football and cheerleading sponsored by the Cramerton Athletic Club. Facilities and athletic fields are used for league play Monday through Saturday. Winter Registrations for cheerleading and basketball ages 3-15 will begin October 1st and run through November 8th or until teams are full. Please register early to secure your child a spot on a team. Cheerleading age groups are ages 3-5, 6-9, and 10-12. Basketball age groups are 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15. We also have an all girl’s teams ages 9-13. Basketball drafts will be held the week of November 17th. Practice will begin the month of December and games will be played during January and February. Anyone interested in participating or being a sponsor in our annual Christmas parade, please call the office at 704-824-4231 and ask for Cam or Cristy. TRASH AND RECYCLING RECEPTACLES The Town of Cramerton through our contract with Waste Management can only provide one trash receptacle and one recycling receptacle to each residency. The Town pays Waste Management every month for each container that is set up in Town. If you wish to have an additional receptacle you must contract directly with Waste Management. Waste Management’s number is 800-273-0438. If you have a damaged receptacle please contact Town Hall for a replacement at 704-824-4337.
YARD OF THE MONTH INFORMATION The Beautification Committee has selected two yards on how attractive the yard looks through edging, trimming, plants and shrubbery, placement, color, condition and height of grass and attractive yard ornaments. In order to qualify, you must perform all of the landscaping work in your yard without the assistance of a professional.
TOWN OF CRAMERTON ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2ND SESSION OF MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACADEMY The Town of Cramerton is currently accepting applications for its 2nd session of the Cramerton Citizens’ Municipal Government Academy. The academy’s goal is to promote better understanding of and encourage participation in Cramerton Town Government. Academy participants will spend ten evenings with Town staff and other special guests learning the basic processes of local government, becoming familiar with each Town department and their duties, and when and where citizens can be most effective when participating in their government. Each class session will begin at 6:00 PM and will last approximately three hours and will include presentations, discussions, group activities, and tours of Town facilities. The first session will be held on Tuesday, January 5 and thereafter classes will be held two Thursdays each month. The program will run through May with graduation scheduled at the Town Board of Commissioner’s Meeting on May 21, 2014. Participation in each academy session is limited to 20 people. Priority of admission will be based on: residency within the Town limits, order of receipt of a completed academy application, and those living within Cramerton’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Completed 2014 academy applications are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, December 12, 2014. There is no cost for academy participation. Participation is limited to persons 18 years of age and older. Academy applications are available at the Cramerton Town Hall, by calling 704-824-4337, or by visiting www.cramerton.org.

Captain Jim’s Seafood and Steaks is open for business and serving a variety of menu items from catfish to rib eye steaks. Mr. Gary Gaddis is the fish cook and worked at Twin Tops for 22 years. Mr. Jeff Graham is the steak cook and worked at the River Rat for 12 years. Mr. Jim Willard is the owner. He stated has been a business owner in the Gaston County area for years as the owner of Jim’s Grocery Bait and Tackle in Belmont and the previous owner of Seven Oaks Seafood and Steak for five years.
