ISSUE #3 12th February 2015
CHANGE
There is always great excitement, a
little trepidation and a sense of
nervousness when something new is
about to start.
For three weeks now the Year 7
students have proudly worn their High
School uniforms. They are adjusting to
a change of pace, procedures and
expectations when moving from one
sub-school to another. They are
excited about the variety of subjects,
moving around the school by
themselves, accessing the canteen
when they like and enjoying the
different opportunities they have,
especially in the practical subjects
such as Art, Drama, Industrial
Technology and Music. Their Form
teachers speak very fondly of them
already and have been encouraged by
their mature attitudes and willingness
to support and welcome new students
into the school.
In just over a week they will head off
on camp to Luther Heights for three
days of fabulous activities and great
fun as they get to know their teachers
and each other just a little better.
One of the focus times on camp is the
devotions and Bible teaching
segments that occur each morning
and evening. This year Mrs Fowles
will be sharing the Gospel with the
students, and for some this will be a
first as she introduces them to the
Good news of Jesus Christ and His
gift of Salvation.
Term one has begun at a cracking
pace for staff and students alike with
much already happening across the
school.
We as a school feel blessed by the
quality of teachers that God has
brought to work here in 2015. Staff
who have a passion for seeing our
students reach their potential and
grow them to all God wants them to
be. Staff are available to you should
you have a concern or question that
needs to be answered about your
child.
Before we know it these same Year 7
students will be on the stage, shaking
hands as they graduate Year 12 and
our junior Primary students will be the
ones moving into the Middle School.
Until then, let’s enjoy what 2015 has
to offer.
