Our 2019 Prep students will spend most of the day at school. All other

Craig Dent Author Visit
Local author, Craig Dent visited Myrtleford P12 College on Tuesday 4th December to read his new book to the Prep-6 students. The book is called, “The Owl Who Travels Through Time”. Last year Craig came to the school to run a writing workshop with the Year 3-4
students and they helped contribute ideas to his earlier book called, “The Kookaburra Who Lost His Laugh”. Craig invited the students to read some sections of the book, as well as engaged the students with various questions during the reading. Our College Library has copies of both books written by Craig and students are welcome to drop in to see Mrs Morgan and have a read for themselves.
Mr Lindsay
It’s the end of the year, and time for all library books to be returned to the library so that I can commence a stock take and other end of year jobs. Please assist your children to return all borrowed books as soon as possible. Thanks, Kath Morgan (Librarian)

Grade 1L, 5B, and 2L have been down to visit Myrtleford Lodge recently, along with Year 9 regular visitors. Each group of
students have presented different activities and created happy memories with the residents. I am sure they will miss our visits
over the big summer break. The photo wall is looking fantastic and before Christmas I will take it down and bind it into a coffee table
book for all to enjoy. After our visit today the regular Year 9 visitors and I enjoyed some morning tea at Alpine Gate Cafe to celebrate their wonderful work over the year.

On Tuesday, Grade 1L walked to Myrtleford Lodge to showcase our play “Mack the Quack”. Lily also played some songs on piano which she has been practising. We finished off with singing a couple of Christmas carols which
the Lodge crew joined in with. It’s great to see our students interacting with the residents of the Lodge, some
even introducing themselves in Italian!
Nia L. I liked seeing Gwyneth. I introduced myself in Italian to a lady who is from Italy.
Lily P. I played piano and did Christmas carols. I wore reindeer ears while we did the carols. I was Mother Duck and Noah was Mack the Quack.
Will H. We got our scripts and headbands and got ready for the play. Lily played the piano while we waited for the people to arrive. The narrators went first and then the duck family came on.
Adam U. We were reading Mack the Quack and I was Judge Well and also a Narrator. I shook hands with some of the residents.
A little bit of morning fun with Mr Selway for Year 1L on Wednesday. In partners and small groups they practiced and performed little skits for their classmates. Once each group was on the ‘stage’ , the class said “lights, camera, action” and the performance began. This was followed by a bow. Everyone participated and watched with great enthusiasm.

Year 9 Mathematics - Scale Factor Projects Year 9s in Term Four had an assignment to make an enlarged object of our choice. Some examples of these objects are: avocado, ruler, and clock. We did this task to show that we understood scale factor and could find the scale factor of different shapes. Scale factor is where you enlarge of minimize a shape. We do this by finding the length of the sides and multiplying them to find the new side length.
