Letter from CEO Juvenile Diabetes Walk

“We at Eschbacher VHB always make it a priority to un-derstand our clients, their needs and their constraints. In these uncertain financial times, it is important, as consult-ants, to show our clients that we see the big picture for their projects and offer the most streamlined approach to save time and money. “Accretive Solutions, a national consulting and executive search firm headquartered at 105 Maxess Road in Mel-ville, continues to highlight the Company’s Accounting & Finance, Enterprise Governance, and Business & Technol-ogy service offerings that appear to be most helpful to

companies in today’s economic climate (e.g. financial and operational process improvement, treasury / cash man-agement optimization, enterprise risk management, or-ganizational change management, ERP system optimiza-tion, etc.) Accretive Solutions continues to see healthy demand for top quality employment candidates among many public and privately-held companies in spite of cur-rent recessionary pressures in both the local and national economy.

Accretive Solutions continues to refine its vision for the future while weathering the current economic condi-tions. During 2008, the Company has centralized a num-ber of back-office operations and eliminated non-essential business activities as a means of driving process efficiency, headcount reduction, and cost savings. Letter from the CEO

Juvenile Diabetes Walk

The Long Island Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), headquartered at 532 Broadhollow Road, recently held its annual “Walk To Cure Diabetes” fundraiser, and scored a record-breaking attendance of 13,000 participants and raised funds so far reaching $1.4 million and counting; projecting a total that will surpass last year’s $1.9 million. With a theme of “Score for the Cure,” this year’s Walks took place at Belmont Lake State Park of Babylon, SUNY Old Westbury and Suffolk County Community College at Riverhead.

T. Weiss Realty is proud to have sponsored the event. Other sponsors included: Best Western East End, Better Living Now, Briggs & Riley Travelware, Clare Rose, DiPaola Financial Group, DJ’s Of The World, EmbroidMe, Entenmann’s, Estée Lauder Companies, Giorgio’s Premier Caterers, Hoffmann & Baron, LLP, Holiday Inn Express East End, M3 Entertainment, MSC Industrial Supply Co., Pas-cucci Family Foundation, Sabrett, Smiles & Grins Photography, Solo, Sovereign Bank, Spitz & Peck Florist, The Home Depot®, U.S. Limousine Service Ltd., WALK 97.5, Xtreme Sounds and yogarocks!™.

“All three of this year’s Walks were a tremendous success and exceeded our expectations in terms of attendance and enthusiasm,” says Bar-bara Rogus, executive director of the JDRF LI Chapter. “The amazing outpouring of support for the “Walk to Cure Diabetes” reminds all of us that diabetes doesn’t go away in an uncertain economy and we have to continue working to fund research for a cure.”

Over the past 40 years of my career, I have always been impressed by people who point out the pro-verbial “silver lining” in an otherwise bleak situa-tion. Individuals seek out upbeat people with dy-namic personalities and avoid people who only see the glass half empty. In today’s difficult economic times, I see tremen-dous opportunity for businesses and for their em-ployees. Take advantage of these opportuni-ties. As a business, we refocus our efforts on those business principles that made us successful when we were just starting out. Re-visit those basic concepts, which set you apart from your competition. Bring value and professionalism to your clients by going the extra mile. Employees who have found vacant cubicles next to theirs can shine under these circumstances. Set yourself apart by stepping up to the plate and when the economy and business turns around, you will be front and center to take advantage of this opportunity. Ted Weiss CEO, T. Weiss Realty Corp.

On July 1st 2008, Polytechnic University, which has a campus at 105 Maxess Road, became an affiliate of New York University (NYU), creating a dynamic school of engineering, applied science and technology. It is now known as Polytechnic Institute of NYU (NYU-Poly). The affiliation gives New York University a high-powered engineering and technology program, and offers Polytechnic students and faculty access to additional academic and research resources. The NYU-Poly Long Island Graduate Center, located at 105 Maxess Road, represents a unique opportunity for Long Island graduate students to now experience an NYU educa-tion.

Jerry M. Hultin, President of Polytechnic Institute of NYU, says: “This perfect fit between two great universities will preserve and enhance Polytechnic's commitment to top-tier technology education and research, contribute to the economic vitality of New York and to our stu-dents' ability to compete in the 21st century global economy."

Program areas include computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electrophysics, RF/microwaves, management, systems engineering, telecommunication networks, and wireless innovation. Students from both institutions will share resources, beginning with li-brary access, but later expanding to other areas.

J. De Sena Supports a Cause Close to His Heart

LaManna of CBRE Wins 42” TV at 532 Broadhollow Open House

Senior Financial Advisor Joe De Sena, CFP, MBA, an Ameriprise Private Wealth Ad-visor soon to join us at 324 South Service Road, recently sponsored an event for the Michael Magro Foundation. In July of 2004, 13-year-old Michael Magro passed away from an aggressive form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) less than two months after being diagnosed. In memory of their son, Paul and Terrie Magro established the Michael Magro Founda-tion in 2005. Supporting the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, the foundation helps relieve some of the financial hardships faced by parents with children undergoing treatment for cancer. Because of his personal relationship with the Magro family, De Sena was motivated to become involved with the Foundation in 2005, and he was later asked to become a board member due to his commitment and business expertise. De Sena then took the lead in sponsoring the 4th Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving, and important fundraiser for the Foundation, held on October 7th. A selection of the finest Long Island restaurants donated food for the event, and guests could visit tables hosted by each restaurant to sample their gourmet cuisine. Cor-porations and small businesses donated raffle prizes and items for silent auction. At night’s end, the Evening of Tasting and Giving raised over $71,000, topping all previous fundraising event efforts. De Sena commended the efforts of guests and benefactors, stating that “Even though we are going through difficult economic times, our clients and friends of the Mi-chael Magro Foundation demonstrated generous financial support.”

Vincent LaManna, a First Vice President in the Woodbury office of CB Richard Ellis, won a 42” flat panel TV in a raffle at T. Weiss Realty’s 532 Broadhollow Broker Open House on October 7th. The open house highlighted 532 Broadhollow’s newly renovated common areas, entrances and landscaping. Some 50 brokers were in attendance. T. Weiss also unveiled it’s $25,000 broker bonus, which is available to any broker who signs at least 20,000 square feet of space in the buildings before December 31st. This incentive package gives brokers the opportunity to boost their in-comes during these trying times in commercial real estate. Congratulations to Vince, and thanks to all the brokers who attended and made the event a success.

T. Weiss Realty Completes “5 Year Green Initiative”

In a continued effort to address the environmental concerns facing the world today, T. Weiss Realty Corp. has recently completed a “5 Year Green Initiative” to reduce its carbon footprint. Over the past five years and across our portfolio, T. Weiss Realty Corp. has converted all of our fossil fuel oil-driven boilers to natural gas. The last building under conversion is the 532 Broadhollow Corporate Center, which was com-pleted this past week. This now eliminates all oil-based fossil fuels from T. Weiss’ approximately 600,000 SF portfolio of Class A Office Space. Additional steps completed by TWRC in it’s Green Initiative include the following:

• All buildings have been converted to energy-efficient, high-performance lighting and electric-based energy support systems • Our buildings are fully lit by compact fluorescent lighting, which uses 75% less energy than incandescent lighting • More than a half a million SF of our portfolio has been converted to a state of the art internet-based energy management system,

providing total control of temperature, lighting and overall energy consumption • T. Weiss Realty Corp. has set aside parking for alternative fuel vehicles • Our 324 South Service Road building features back-up power provided by a 750 KW Generator. T. Weiss Realty has an agreement

with our utility provider where, in the event of a brown-out, we can come off the LIPA grid and power the building using the gen-erator, thereby allowing LIPA to provide electricity to other customers, hopefully helping to alleviate brown-outs.
