Izmir is Turkey's third-largest city, proudly liberal and deeply cultured.

The city has been an important Aegean port since ancient times,

when it was the Greek city of Smyrna, and its seafront kordon

(promenade) is as fetching and lively as any in the world. Creating the

perfect setting for Globelink Unimar to hold its networking dinner

event.

During the event, presentations were made by NVOCC Country

Manager, Ms Asli Mete, and Izmir Branch Manager, Mr Erhan Altinizli.

With a turnout of 150 participants, the night was filed with strategic and

healthy dialogues presenting an effective platform to strengthen

relationships with customers, and to showcase our capabilities in

Turkey.

The event also allowed Globelink Unimar to reassure customers of its

position as a trusted organisation despite harsh market conditions.

Niche Market

Izmit, also known as Kocaeli, located at north-western Turkey- lies near

the head of İzmit Gulf of the Sea of Marmara. The city spreads across

several hills and over a narrow plain that contains its commercial and

industrial sections. İzmit’s growth in modern times resulted mainly from

its rapid industrialization and its position on the main road and rail line

between Istanbul and Ankara. It is the center of the Turkish paper

industry, meeting about half of the country’s requirements. It also has a

large oil refinery. Other industries include cement, phosphate, textiles,

petrochemicals, and tires. The port of İzmit handles both domestic and

international shipping. The city is connected by road with major towns.

Globelink Fraser Ultra 2017

19 August 2017, Fraser Hill Pahang, Malaysia. Globelink Fraser Ultra 2017

is not for the faint hearted with a course profiles of 100km, 70km and

22km, filled with peak elevations of 1,500m – 1,200m, the event has

been designed for ultramarathon runners.

This year Chia Pei Jyen from Globelink Malaysia won 1st place in the

22km Women’s category.

This being the third event in partnership with endurance nature,

Globelink volunteers were no strangers to level contribution needed.

Before the crack of dawn, volunteers began to setup of water and

refreshment stations for the participants at multiple points of the race.

Globelink Malaysia remains committed to provide aid and help for the

community in such events. By lending a helping hand, Globelink

Malaysia is committed to share the vision of Endurance Nature- bringing

quality Ultra Marathon events of diverse nature to the community and

as well as encouraging a healthy lifestyle among our staff.

With the successful completion of Globelink Fraser Ultra 2017, Globelink

Malaysia will like to thank all who participated and volunteered along

for the event.
