The Christmas spirit arrived a little early at Brampton aspart of Year 4s work on stories set in an imaginaryworld. A pantomime of the Peter Pan story was booked

for the school to see. I know many parents wanted tocome as well! Year 4 enriched their understanding of what happens when in a typical imaginary world story bycontinuing work back in the classroom, creatingstoryboards of the pantomime plot. They have also usedit as a stimulus to write their own stories this week. Thechildren enjoyed the usual participation in the story. Many thanks to Miss

Carter and MissHope for organisingthis and to parentswho made adonation to cover thecost.

Recent data analysis of attendance from Bexley shows that at Brampton in last years Year6 we had no pupils with attendance below 80% and 44% with attendance between 95%-100%. In English, Reading, Writing, Maths and Science, our highest attending pupilsoutperformed the average attainment in Bexley. Again this re-enforces our drive to ensurethe importance of high attendance and how this will aid the progress made by our pupils toreach the highest standards. Well done to last years Year 6 and their parents for

supporting thisaim. For the bestchances of successpupils need to havegood attendanceof between 190-180 days or 100%-95%.Did you know thatmissing 5 days ofevery term every

Minimising Infections in SchoolThe Health Protection Agency has published Guidance on Infection Control in Schools

available from www.hpa.org.uk.It details how long children should be kept at home after suffering an illness. For example

after diarrhoea or vomiting illness they should be kept at home 48 hours from the lastepisode of diarrhoea or vomiting. Its well known that coughing and sneezing can spreadinfections and children should be shown how to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue

    and wash their hands afterwards.
