INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION

The INSRTUMENT SOCIETY OF INDIA was inaugurated in the institution on 2nd September 2003. The inaugural was done by Dr.PRAHLADH, Director DRDL who was the chief guest of the occasion. The institute student chapter is affiliated to the main branch head quartered at IISC , Bangalore. Besides, it also coordinates among student chapters at various institutes locally and the local head branch at Osmania university in organizing various events.

The society aims at developing various technical skills to its members in the instrumentation field by conducting national symposiums on instruments, workshops and seminars regarding the same. Also the student chapter provides magazines of research and advancements in the field to them members

Regular Activities:Regular Activities:

since its inception the ISOI has been organizing various events at the institute consistently , which aim at improving various skills of the student members. For the last 6 years , ISOI has been consistently organizing the following2.1. Two technical seminars for each semester2.2. One technical workshop of current and advanced technologies2.3. Prasthuthi- technical paper presentation competition.

2.4. Instruspark – a non technical event conducted exclusively for fresher’s. this event is being conducted for the past three years2.5. An active involvement at Dr E V R Rao Endowment Lecture and presentation of Sri D V S Raju Endowment Gold Medal2.6. Active participation at Convergence- a national level symposium -- --organized by the institute annually.

3.1.1. CAREER COUNCELLING:Career counseling session was held on 6/8/11 .This session was intended to help the students towards their career planning and management. EIE alumni -Mr. Bala Krishna(entrepreneur) ,Mr.Lohit(Works for Dr. reddy’s) ,Mr.Vishwanath (M tech IIT) and Shrutha Keerthi turned up for the occasion.

3.1.2 . ONLINE EVENTS (Instruspark):

Online events were conducted from 17/9/11 to 30/9/11 for the fresher’s as a part of ‘Instruspark ‘

There were two events Pictionary and Quiz on current affairs.

Out of 60 participants and 6 winners were selected on merit basis

3.1.3. INSTRUSPARK:Instruspark is an exclusive fest for fresher’s which has been conducted by ISOI-VNRVJIET past 3 years. Instruspark has 3 events -Ad Zap, 70 mm, Chiller party .This fest is intended to encourage the fresher’s to take part in college activities. Conducted on 28/10/11.There were 450 + participants. The fest was a huge success and was appreciated. 3.1.4. Dr E V R Rao Gold Medal Endowment Lecture :On 29 th October, 2011 , the executive body of ISOI attended Dr E V R Rao Endowment Lecture and presentation of Sri D V S Raju Endowment Gold Medal. As part of green strive - the executive body of ISOI-VNRVJIET distributed the cotton bags to the turned up people at the venue. 

3.1.5. WEBSITE: ISOI-VNR goes

online .insruspark.webs.com . besides providing the information of upcoming events and results , the website also aims at providing information on e-books , lecture notes ,previous question papers and technical facts

3.1.6. SEMINAR: Importance of plc’s and

scada in industry were explained by the representative from Yokogawa corporation. The session also had briefings of the up coming workshop by the same.

3.1.7. GREEN STRIVE To rise the consciousness and to invoke the conscience of the human harm to the nature , Team ISOI conducted a five day campaign in the campus starting from January 23-28. 2012 . Cotton bags were distributed to the faculty members and the team presided the campus after classes bringing awareness.

3.1.8. TECHNICAL SEMINAR ON DCS AND INSTRUMENTATION: In February there was a technical seminar regarding dcs and its implantation in power plants . the speaker Mr. Srinivas is from APGENCO working as deputy manager. The session was interactive and a good learning experience for the students

3.1.9. DCS , PLC’S WORKSHOP BY YOKOGAWA WORKSHOP:

A workshop with hands experience was held form 5th- 8th march 2012. This workshop was being held in collaboration with Yokogawa corporation who provided the speakers and necessary kits for the participants. 75 students participated in the workshop and all of them are certified by the company.

Convergence is a national level technical symposium held at the institute annually , where team ISOI has always being instrumental in the success of the fest. Around 15000 participants registered for the fest, for the same ISOI contributed significantly. There were 13 events conducted at the fest on behalf of ISOI. The events list includes both technical and non technical themes. They are the following.

3.2.1 On 12-8-2010, BRAIN DEMONTE an event which comprised of a quiz with a new flavor, and lumosity which tests the cognitive skills of the students. This event was a runaway success, with large number of participation.

3.2.2 On 24-8-2010, D.V.S.Raju Endowment medal had been awarded to K.Pradeep Kumar of IV year EIE, VNR VJIET for securing highest marks among all the students of JNTU affiliated colleges.

3.2.3 On 12-9-2010, a new web site was launched by Dr.S.Raja Rathnam. An e-magazine was launched by Proff.Manjula Sree.

3.2.4 On 12-10-2010, orientation seminar was conducted by the chairman for the first year students.

3.2.5 On 15-10-2010, E.V.R.Rao Endowment lecture was organized by ISOI Hyderabad chapter.

3.2.6 On 12-11-2010, INSTROSPARK an event which comprised of mad adz , role plays, treasure hunt , quiz were conducted exclusively for the fresher’s . The event had a good participation.

3.2. 7 On 15-1-2011, orientation seminar on the rules, regulations and guide lines to be followed in presenting a paper was addressed by chairman.

3.2. 8 On 4-2-2011, PRASTHUTHI, the annual paper presentation contest was organized, which galvanized large number of technical papers.

3.3.1 An orientation session was conducted for the freshers in the month of September.3.3.2. In the month of October, “INSTRUSAPRK” was organized for the first time in college, exclusive events are organized for first year’s to encourage them participating in various events

 3.3.3 In the month of November team isoi attended the E.V.R.Rao Endowment lecture was organized by ISOI Hyderabad chapter.

3.3.4 . In the month of January , ISOI conducted PRASTHUTHI – technical paper presentation for all the branches in the institute.
