MENTORING PROGRAM BY NATRAJAN EDUCATION SOCIETY

July 6, 2013: NES, a non-profit organization in association

with TurnRight launched the National Mentorship Program

to bridge the gap between the Industry and Student skill set.

S.B.P.I.M had organized an orientation seminar on 6th July,

2013 - PROGRAM THEME: 'Importance of a Mentor to

shape your Career Destiny'.

The industry leaders who graced the occasion and mentored

Technologies. July, 25 to 30 2013: To welcome the budding manager to

the institute and to prepare them for their new role, SBPIM

had organized an Induction program “RHYTHM 2013”.

Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director - SBPIM addressed and

welcomed the students, Dr. E. B. Khedkar (Dean,

Management Sciences, University of Pune, Director Dr.

D.Y. Patil School of Management) was the chief guest for

“RHYTHM 2013”. He shared the success mantra with the

students: set clear objectives, do hard work and to develop

competitive perspective to be successful in life.

Experts from various fields like. Dr. Sadhana Choukar,

Corporate Communication Trainer SIOM, Dr. Prasanna

Gadre, Management Trainer and medical practitioner, Mr.

Neeraj Bajpai, (AGM, Sai Prasad Group of Companies

guided the students and talked about the corporate

expectations. Senior faculties of SBPIM Dr. Hansraj

Thorat and Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar guided the students on

Code of conduct and the new CBCGS MBA Syllabus.

INSTITUTE PARENTS PARTNERSHIP (IP3)

January 26, 2014: To create an open forum discussion

between the Institute and Parents, S. B. Patil Institute of

Management has organized the third Institute Parents

Partnership Program (IP3) for the academic year 2013-2014

on 26 January from 9:30 am to 12.00 pm Dr. Daniel Penkar,

Director (SBPIM), in his welcome address, informed the

parents about the progress of their wards. He also assured

parents, that SBPIM develops students to become a good

human being and best citizen of India. Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar

had put a light in the areas of Academics, Extra-curricular

and Co-curricular activities. Dr. Hansraj Thorat thanked all

the parents for the valuable support extended to the institute.

AN ALUMNI MEET "CONVERGENCE 2014"

February 22, 2014: SBPIM organised its second Alumni Meet

'CONVERGENCE – 2014' on February 22, 2014. Two

minutes silence was observed to give condolence to our ex-

student Mr. Akash Vihire.

The program began with welcome speech by Director Dr.

Daniel Penkar. He motivated the alumni in his own

charismatic way sharing his own experience as alumni of Ness

Wadia College. Prof. Priya Gole took us through the

development journey of SBPIM since inception which

included receiving ISO 9001:2008 certifications, award for

college of substance, institute's pride Director Dr. Daniel

Penkar who won precious international and national award,

achievements of Dr. Hansraj Thorat, Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar

and all faculty members.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – BUMBLE BEE

February 15,2014 : Personality Development Training

Program was conducted for MBA 1st year students at S. B. Patil

Institute of Management. Ms. Padmini Panse and Ms. Ketki

Joshi, Personality development trainers from Bumble Bee, India

commenced the session with national anthem. They shared

various national and international corporate examples and

conducted various management games like 'management'

during festivals, Tug of war, Ring game, and reach the line

activity. They also gave tips on Communication Skills and Body

language Etiquettes.

A workshop on “Communication is an art” was organised by

S.B.P.I.M under the QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

PROGRAMME CLUSTER COLLEGE SCHEME 2013-

2014 in association with UNIVERSITY OF PUNE. This

workshop was conducted by Padmini Panse and Ms. Ketki

Joshi, Soft Skill Trainers from “Bumble Bee”. Students from

various colleges of cluster 6A, PIBM, IICMR, RJSPM ICMR,

February 21, 2014 : To help students gain first hand

information regarding functioning of the Industry S.B.P.I.M

had organized an Industrial visit to Sidel India Pvt. Ltd.,

Chakan, Pune. The students learnt about the work

atmosphere and various functional areas like Manufacturing

Process, Plant Layout, Lean Management, Quality Control,

Supply Chain and other major operations of the company.

TEACHER'S DAY

September 5, 2013: Students of SBPIM had celebrated

Teacher's Day for giving regards and honor to all the teachers.

The teachers were welcomed and felicitated with a token of

love. There were speeches given by the students about Dr.

Sarwapalli Radhakrishnan. Then came the fun part of the

program i.e. game zone, where teachers had a blast while

playing the game and students could see the joy and

enthusiasm being reflected by teachers.

Retail Management

August 8, 2013: To give a fresh insight about the retail industry

and the career opportunities about this sector SBPIM had

organized a guest lecture on “RETAIL MANAGEMENT”

The guest speaker Mr. Darrell Wisbey, Chief Mentor at

GREAT India B School, Retailer Advisor – Asia. Informed

about the emerging trends and career opportunities

specifically about the Indian retail sector and he also shared

strategies adopted by foreign retail sectors.

February 22, 2014: Guest lecture on "Project Management

CPM/PERT" was conducted by Mr. Mihir Jha, Director

Strategic Programmes Amdocs Development Centre India

Pvt. Ltd. He taught various aspects of managing the

project, project activities, project network diagram

Operation and Supply Chain Management

March 5, 2014: To give an insight about the application of

MRP, CRP, DRP, MRP-II in the industry, SBPIM had

organized a Guest Lecture on Operation and Supply Chain

Management. The lecture was conducted by Mr. P. R. Trivedi

Ex Vice President (Mfg and P &A) - M and M Ltd Group. He

spoke about how production planning and control are

implemented in the industry. The lecture was very resourceful

and students gave an excellent feedback.

State Level Seminar on “Using Apps forBusiness Management”

September 27 & 28, 2013: SBPIM had organized a two day

State Level Seminar titled “Using Apps for Business

Management”. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Sharad

Joshi, Professor VIM, Mr. Mangesh Deshpande, Director,

Finance Amdocs Development Centre India Pvt. Ltd, Dr.

Daniel Penkar - Director SBPIM, Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar and

Dr. Hansraj Thorat. Dr. Daniel Penkar in his welcome address

motivated all the participants with his influential words. “Dr.

Vilas Nandawadekar, Director MCA, SIOM and Dr. Tanaji

Dabhade, Professor MCA SIOM were the chairpersons for the

technical session. Mr. Anurag Shukla, an app expert focused on

“Mobile apps and their importance in today's Business

Scenario”. Mr. Mihir Jha, Director Strategic Programmes

Amdocs Development Centre India Pvt. Ltd. focused on “The

role and Impact of Apps in Business Management”. Dr B. S.

Sawant, the chief guest of the valedictory session highlighted

March 15, 2014: Research Cell of S.B.Patil Institute of

Management has conducted an orientation programme for

CULTUTAL FEST 2014

To give a blend of learning, fun and experience the students of thMBA I and II SBPIM had celebrated cultural fest from 4 Feb

to 8th Feb 2014. The programs conducted were “DAYS,

ZING and FUNFAIR”. Days like Traditional, Red and

Black, Western, Professional, Bollywood were celebrated.

ZING , a talent competition was organized for the students to

showcase their talent .Various competitions like creative

cooking, vegetable art, rangoli, dance, singing, fashion show,

photography, bollywood quiz, face painting, camel hunt, best

out of waste, mad-ads, debate, treasure hunt, in a minute,

were conducted. Funfair with the theme, hunger and

starvation having food stalls and various games were

conducted by the students.



SPORTS WEEK 2014 “SPORTS DO NOT BUILD CHARACTER. THEY

REVEAL IT.

To encourage active participation from students Sports

Week – 2014 was organized at S.B.Patil Institute of th ndManagement from 18 to 22 January 2014. It included

both indoor and outdoor games. The sports week at SBPIM

was entirely designed, managed and executed by students

under the supervision of faculty sports coordinators. Sports

week included sports like “Cricket, Basket Ball, Football,

Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom ” .
