ABSTRACT To assist project managers in managing the challenges of
highly complex projects Project Management InformationSystem (PMIS) Model was generated.
In order to assess the impact of PMIS model on ProjectManagement Decision Making (PMDM) process a surveywas conducted by designing and distributing thequestionnaire to 170 employees.
The result illustrated that the effect of PMIS was highlyuseful and efficient in project management decisionmaking in each phase of project life-cycle.

INTRODUCTION The project management is a multifaceted process in which the
projects need to be highly administered, providing highperformance while managing project risks.
The work breakdown structure (WBS), critical path method
(CPM) and the program evaluation and review technique (PERT)and Gantt chart are the technical solutions that help in effectiveproject management.
Some project managers does not clearly identify the risk relatedto the project which may lead to failure in accomplishingprojects objective.
The problems faced by the project managers can be diminishedby acquiring Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
PMIS helps the top managers in decision making process withregards to selecting, planning, organizing and controllingprojects and portfolios.

CONTRIBUTION OF RESEARCH Some authors have described Project Management
tool as systematic procedure or practices that projectmanagers use for producing specific project
management deliverables. Meredith and Mantel (2006) found that use of IT has a
major impact in problem solving during all the phasesof project life-cycle.
The task of PMIS supplies project managers byessential information on the cost-time performanceparameters of a project and on the relationship ofthese parameters (Raymond L., 1987)

CONTRIBUTION OF RESEARCH In the IT industry, Gartner Research has estimated
that 75% of large IT projects supported by PMIS willsucceed, while 75% of projects without such support
will fail (Light M. 2005) Davenport and Harris, 2007 imply that there is
research evidence suggesting that better use ofinformation can improve decision making.
The literatures evaluated project management as asignificant feature for the success of any organization.
It is highly essential in supporting project managersfor developing efficient decision making process.

METHODOLOGY
Dependant variable effective and efficient projectmanagement decision making process
Independent variables following are the independantvariables used in this research paper
Information quality (IQ)
Analytical quality (AQ) System quality (SQ)
Technical quality (TQ)

HYPOTHESIS TESTED The following are the main four out of the eight
hypotheses that is selected to find out what is theimpact of PMIS on PMDM
Hypothesis 3: There is a significant positive relationshipbetween information quality and effective and efficientproject management decision making process.
Hypothesis 4: There is a significant positive relationshipbetween analytical quality and effective and efficientproject management decision making process.

relationship between communication quality andeffective and efficient project management decisionmaking process.
Hypothesis 8: There is a significant positive
relationship between decision maker quality andeffective and efficient project management decisionmaking process.

DATA COLLECTION AND RESEARCH
METHODData collection
A questionnaire were designed distributed to 170 employees(member of 3 project teams)
Total of 16 questions based on finding out the hypothesis and wererequired to answer using scale method.
Research MethodsFor analysizing the data, the author have used statistical package for socialsciences (SPSS) and adopted following methods
Correlation Analysis Regression Analysis

REGRESSION ANALYSIS
Linear regression
P < 0.0005 which is less than 0.05 and indicates that, overall, themodel applied is significantly good enough in predicting theoutcome variable.

CONCLUSION Based on the above correlation and regression
results
we reject the null hypothesis (H0) and accept the
alternative hypothesis (H1) of all measuredindependent variables (H3, H4 and H8) exceptH7.
Selecting communication quality as a factor in
PMIS conceptual model should be revised
Highly professional decision makers are requiredto have successful PMIS
