Receives the word of God from the Angel Gabriel, which are written down and called the “Koran”

A religion that worships the same God that Jews and Catholicsbelieve in. (Allah = God in Arabic is the same as “God” & “Lord”,

Abraham, Moses and Jesus are all considered prophets in Islam

The Koran updates the Old Testiment (Jewish) and New Testament (Catholic) words of God.

What Islam is not…Just a Middle Eastern religion.

The basic idea of the religion is to surrender to the peace of God’s will.

85% of all Muslims are not Arab

Islam is the 2nd largest religion in the world

The Spread of Islam Islam had spread to North Africa, Europe

and Asia 100 after Mohammed had died.

The Crusades

The Holy City of Jerusalem is now under the control ofthe Muslims.

Catholic Europe tries to retake Jerusalem, these were the Crusades

East-West Trade

European Crusaders discover products from Asia and Africa while in the Middle East

The scarcity of these products in Europe creates a demand
