Foundation stage children performed for Mothers Day. They

sang some songs and recite small poems about their

mothers. Children learn to respect each other, different

nationalities, to gain self confidence, to be aware that we are

different. Nursery and Reception children recited some

poems and sang songs in English and their mother

language to express their love for mothers all over the world.

Children have been working hard for this show in order to

offer a handmade card and a flower to all the wom

present.

24 students in our Martial Arts club went through a tough examination

to get their orange belts. European champion Nicolae Stoian was the

examiner of our students. Parents watching the examination were

proud to see how much their children achieved in such a short time.

Marţisor and Women’s DayHere in Romania we celebrate not only women’s day but we also celebrate

mother’s day. These days are of great importance to all Romanians, both young

and old; they are both celebrated on the same date, the 8th of March.

This year in celebration of these two important days, pupils at ISB made special

cards and wrote personal messages for their mothers, these included short poems

and texts and all were written by the children themselves during their Romanian

lessons. All at ISB would like to wish all the mothers of ISB, a happy mother’s day

for 2009.

We will offer a variety of after school activities during the summer term. These will include some continuing clubs like foot

piano, karate, poetry, drama, craft, Spanish, French and origami as well as some new clubs like swimming, art, club penguin, Turkish,

badminton, outdoor games and story club. They will run for 7 weeks from 28th April through 11th June.

We have seen that a lot of children get hungry after a long day at school. Therefore, we recommend you to prepare a sandwich and

a drink for your child on the days he/she is staying after school.

On Friday 21st March, the Primary School

had an Environmental Day. Different

teachers taught their children about

different aspects of looking after our

environment. The children wore green

clothes and donated money to improve the

school environment. The money raised was

used to buy flowers, climbing plants and

trees. Some parents very kindly gave up

their day to help the children plant what had

been bought.

The staff of ISB would like to thank everyone

for supporting our Green Day. We would

particularly like to thank the parents who

organised, purchased the flowers and trees

and helped the children plant them all. The

school grounds look much greener and the

flowers are a magnificent splash of colour.

On Wednesday 18th March ISB had the second parents evening of the

academic year. This was another opportunity for parents to hear about

the wonderful progress their children have been making! As I walked

around the school I really enjoyed talking to many parents and listening

to their ideas and opinions about the school and its progress since

moving to the new campus. Most certainly many loved

children’s work on display on one of the many artistic display boards.

The school was looking great and it is certainly getting better and

better! Finally I would like to thank our school prefects for working so

hard in making sure that parents felt welcome and found the teachers

they were looking for. It’s great to have such responsible and mature

students we can rely on!

Parents Everywhere!

In today's world, learning English is vital skills

their full potential in later life. The sooner they start learning, the better;

the right methods, children can learn English quickly, effectively and enjoyably.

Once they have this initial grasp of English in primary school, they will have a

strong foundation which will be an advantage in their later studies.

Starting this year ISB, through the EAL department is organizing the first session

of Cambridge YLE for our primary students. The exams will take place in our

school, on the 30th April 2008. For more details contact Miss Mariana, our EAL

coordinator or the lovely secretaries.

We do our best to make Cambridge exams a tradition here at ISB!
