Research or

Scholar Awards
ESTABLISH YOUR ELIGIBILITY
1. Irish Awards are open to Irish and EU Citizens*. (*3+ years residency)
2. Demonstrate a strong rationale for where you are going to in the US.
3. Must comply with the 2-year home rule Visa requirement
4. Not be a dual US-Irish citizen
5. Not be living in the US at time of application
6. Not have recent extensive experience of studying or living in the US

Sponsored awards can be in targeted areas, e.g. agri-food or environment or cybersecurity.
FLTA awards are for Irish speakers to teach and learn in host US Institutions
Sponsored awards can also have broader remit such as NUI or Enterprise Ireland.

US FULBRIGHT AWARDS IN IRELAND
Irish Institutions can host US Fulbright awardees in the following ways:

US Intercountry Awards

Fulbright
US Specialists can be requested (5 to Ireland)
US Intercountry in Europe can be requested. (3-6 to Ireland)
Institutions can sponsor or co-sponsor US awards

Sponsored awards can be in listed in the US or co-sponsored by Institutions when specific All Discipline candidates have been recommended by the US Fulbright panel.
